Angiotensin II- (Ang II-) induced cardiac hypertrophy and apoptosis are major characteristics of early-stage heart failure. Choline exerts cardioprotective effects; however, its effects on Ang II-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis are unclear. In this study, the role and underlying mechanism of choline in regulating Ang II-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis were investigated using a model of cardiomyocyte apoptosis, which was induced by exposing neonatal rat cardiomyocytes to Ang II (10 M, 48 h).

Objective: The aim of this study was to measure the movement of the cervical spine in healthy volunteers and patients with cervical spondylosis (CS) and describe the actual motion of the cervical spine using a three-dimensional (3D) CT reconstruction method. The results can enrich current biomechanical data of cervical spine and help to find the differences between the noted two groups.
Materials And Methods: 20 healthy volunteers underwent CT examination ranging from the clivus of the occiput (Oc) to the top of first thoracic vertebrae (T1) in a neutral position with left or right maximal axial rotation, while 26 CS patients received the same CT scan procedures in the neutral position with left and right maximum rotation.

Background: Traumatic neuromas are rare benign tumors, which are common in trauma or post-operation and accompanied with obvious symptoms of pain. This study will show the superficial peroneal nerve neuroma occurring after resection of hemangioma.
Case Presentation: A 44-year-old male had an operation of the right leg cavernous hemangioma resection in 1995.

Purpose: We aimed to provide evidence for clinical choice of surgical approach in treating spinal tuberculosis, including anterior, posterior and combined approaches (combined anterior and posterior approach).
Methods: A literature search up to June 2015 was performed on PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library, CNKI, Wanfang and Weipu database. Weighted mean differences (WMDs) or risk radios (RRs) and their 95 % confidence intervals (CI) were calculated.

The present study aimed to analyze the indications, feasibility, safety and clinical effects of total spondylectomy and spine reconstruction through posterior or combined anterior-posterior approaches for thoracic lumbar and sacral vertebrae tumors. Between December 2009 and May 2012, 10 patients with thoracic lumbar and sacral vertebrae tumors were retrospectively analyzed. Different surgical indications and approaches were used according to the affected segments, the extent of lesion involvement and the specific pathology results.

Objective: To determine whether the human leukocyte antigen DRB1 (HLA-DRB1) is associated with clinical tuberculosis (TB).
Methods: Pooled odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to evaluate the strength of the association between HLA-DRB1 alleles and risk of TB. The χ(2)-based Q-test and I(2) statistics were calculated to examine heterogeneity.

Background: The aim of our study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of posterior vs. anterior instrumentation for the treatment of spinal tuberculosis in adults.
Methods: The electronic databases such as PubMed, MEDLINE, Springer, EMBASE, Google scholar, and Cochrane library were searched to select the potentially relevant reports that compared the efficacy of posterior instrumentation group (group A) with anterior instrumentation group (group B) in the treatment of spinal tuberculosis.
