Although sorafenib is the first-line therapeutic agent for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the development of drug resistance in HCC cells limits its clinical efficacy. However, the key factors involved in mediating the sorafenib resistance of HCC cells and the underlying mechanisms have not been elucidated. In this study, we generated sorafenib-resistant HCC cell lines, and our data demonstrate that HLA-F locus-adjacent transcript 10 (FAT10), a ubiquitin-like protein, is markedly upregulated in sorafenib-resistant HCC cells and that reducing the expression of FAT10 in sorafenib-resistant HCC cells increases sensitivity to sorafenib.

Objectives: To explore the key genes involved in the occurrence and development of glioblastoma (GBM) by analyzing whole-transcriptome sequencing and biologic data from GBM and normal cerebral cortex tissues and to search for important noncoding RNA (ncRNA) molecular markers based on the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network.
Methods: Ten GBM and normal cerebral cortex tissues were collected for full transcriptome sequencing, screened for differentially expressed (DE) mRNAs, miRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs, and subjected to bioinformatic analysis. We constructed a Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) network and a circRNA/lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network and identified them using reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common malignant tumor of the bone tissue with the lowest survival rate among all pediatric cancers. OS cells grow vigorously under malnutrition; however, the mechanism by which they adapt to metabolic stress via metabolic reprogramming remains undefined. Here, we demonstrated that USP33, a member of the DUBs family, was significantly upregulated in the tissues of patients with OS compared to normal tissues.

The disruption of tumour cell metabolism can inhibit tumour metastasis, indicating that aerobic glycolysis is central to tumour development. However, the key factors responsible for mediating aerobic glycolysis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain unknown. Here, we observed that RBCK1 expression was significantly upregulated in HCC tissues.

Dual-specificity phosphatase-1 (DUSP1/MKP1) plays a key role in controlling various physiological and pathological phenomena, including tumor metastasis and invasion. However, the role of MKP1 in tumorigenesis is controversial. We showed that the expression of MKP1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is significantly downregulated, and MKP1 is an independent predictor of poor prognosis.
