Purpose: To develop novel nomograms for predicting prostate cancer (PCa) and clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) in patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) < 10 ng/ml and PI-RADS v2.1 score ≤ 3.

Methods: We retrospectively collected data from 327 men with PSA < 10 ng/ml and PI-RADS score ≤ 3 from June 2020 to June 2024 in our hospital.

Transferrin Disassociates TCR from CD3 Signaling Apparatus to Promote Metastasis.

Immune recognition and activation by the peptide-laden major histocompatibility complex-T cell receptor (TCR)-CD3 complex is essential for anti-tumor immunity. Tumors may escape immune surveillance by dissembling the complex. Here, we report that transferrin, which is overexpressed in patients with liver metastasis, disassociates TCR from the CD3 signaling apparatus by targeting the constant domain (CD) of T cell receptor α (TCRα), consequently suppresses T cell activation, and inhibits anti-metastatic and anti-tumor immunity.

Quality of guidelines for hyperthyroidism: systematic quality assessment using the AGREE II tool.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to systematically assess the quality of different guidelines for the management of patients with hyperthyroidism and to explore and analyze the recommendations and key evidence in different guidelines.

Methods: A systematic search of databases and websites was conducted to identify treatment guidelines for hyperthyroidism. The quality of the included guidelines was assessed using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II (AGREE II) tool.

Laparoscopic peritoneal mucinous cystadenoma debulking: A case report.

Rationale: Peritoneal mucinous cystadenoma is rare in the clinic, lacks specific clinical manifestations, tumor markers, and imaging features, and is easily misdiagnosed and missed. Clinical practitioners should maintain a high level of vigilance. Here, we report a case of laparoscopic peritoneal mucinous cystadenoma stripping to improve our understanding of the disease.

Background: Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a chronic liver disease characterized by immune-mediated liver inflammation. Despite its global prevalence, the pathogenesis of AIH remains poorly understood, and there is a lack of specific biomarkers and targeted treatments. This study aimed to investigate the role of hsa_circ_0109623, hsa-miR-146b-3p, and Sortilin 1 (SORT1) in AIH and their potential as therapeutic targets.

Background: This study aimed to investigate miRNAs and upstream regulatory transcription factors involved in schizophrenia (SZ) pathogenesis.

Methods: Differential expression of miRNAs and genes in SZ patients was investigated utilizing the gene expression omnibus dataset, gene ontology annotations, and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction experiments were conducted to validate the predictive screening of regulatory genes in peripheral blood samples from 20 SZ patients and 20 healthy controls.

Construction and evaluation of a prognostic model of autophagy-related genes in hepatocellular carcinoma.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a globally prevalent disease. Our article evaluates risk models based on autophagy- and HCC-related genes and their prognostic value by bioinformatics analytical methods to provide a scientific basis for clinical treatment.

Methods: Prognostic genes were identified by univariate and multivariate Cox analyses, and risk scores were calculated.

This study reviews the prevalence of copper (Cu) deficiency in patients for metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS), as well as the long-term outcomes related to the prevalence of Cu deficiency after undergoing MBS. A systematic literature search and meta-analysis were conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus for articles published by August 31, 2024. The search terms included metabolic and bariatric surgery, weight loss surgery, metabolic surgery, obesity surgery, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, duodenojejunal bypass, copper, copper deficiency, and hypocuposemia.

Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have reported multiple risk loci for schizophrenia (SCZ). However, the majority of the associations were from populations of European ancestry. Here we conducted a large-scale GWAS in Eastern Asian populations (29,519 cases and 44,392 controls) and identified ten Eastern Asian-specific risk loci, two of which have not been previously reported.

Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is the first-line treatment for primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), but 20-40% of patients do not respond well to UDCA.
