Purpose: Traditional Chinese medicine possesses distinct advantages in the treatment of acute lumbar sprains, and Tuina (Chinese massage) is a commonly employed therapeutic method. This study employed a Bayesian meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of Tuina therapy for acute lumbar sprain with the aim of providing more evidence-based medical substantiation for clinical practice.
Patients And Methods: Randomized controlled trials of Tuina therapy for acute lumbar sprains published in CNKI, CSPD, CCD, CBM, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were searched up to August 7, 2024.

Methods: The Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, WAN-FANG, CQVIP, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were systematically searched to identify studies that compared LSM versus LMP for OOPC.

Background: Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that although triptolide (TP) is effective against hepatocellular carcinoma, it has poor water solubility and more toxic side effects. In this study, we used triptolide (TP), a bioactive constituent in Hook F, as a model drug to develop a novel nano-liposome drug delivery system for the treatment of liver tumours.
Methods: We constructed a functionally-modified triptolide liposome (FA+TPP-TP-Lips) using the film-dispersion method and investigated its physicochemical properties, mitochondrial targeting of hepatic tumour cells, in vitro and in vivo anti-hepatic tumour activity and its mechanism.
Background: Clinical co-occurrence of UC (Ulcerative Colitis) and T2DM (Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus) is observed. The aim of this study is to investigate the potential causal relationship between Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) using LDSC and LAVA analysis, followed by genetic verification through TSMR, providing insights for clinical prevention and treatment.
Methods: Genetic loci closely related to T2DM were extracted as instrumental variables from the GWAS database, with UC as the outcome variable, involving European populations.

The aim of this study was to explore the effect and mechanism of formononetin (FMNT) in thermal-injured fibroblast proliferation, apoptosis, and oxidative stress. After thermal injury, human skin fibroblast (HSF) cells showed inhibited proliferation, migration, extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis; and increased apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and inflammation. Specifically, after thermal injury, cell viability, migration distance, and protein levels of collagen I, collagen III, α-SMA, MMP1, and MMP3 were reduced; cell apoptosis rate and TUNEL-positive cell numbers were increased; the levels of Bax and cleaved caspase-3 were elevated, while Bcl-2 level was reduced.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Xiongcan Yishen Formula (XYF) on ferroptosis in mouse TM3 Leydig cells after oxidative stress injury (OSI) induced by H2O2. Methods: An oxidative stress injury model was established in mouse TM3 Leydig cells using H2O2 induction. The modeled TM3 cells were randomly divided into OSI group, XYF group, the ferroptosis inhibitor Ferrostatin-1 (F-1) group, and F-1+XYF group, which were respectively intervened with blank serum, 20% drug-containing serum, 2μmol/L F-1, and 2μmol/L F-1+ 20% drug-containing serum.

Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent form of programmed cell death triggered by the excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides on the cell membrane. Recent studies have found that ferroptosis can be induced by exposure of the testis tissue and germ cells to some high-risk factors, accompanied by various characteristic reproductive system injuries, including changes in cell morphology, ferroptosis-related physicochemical indicators and gene expressions. This review focuses on the association of ferroptosis with male reproductive system diseases from three key aspects: iron metabolism abnormalities, Cystine/GSH/GPX4 axis imbalance, and lipid peroxidation.

Polygonati Rhizoma (PR, Huangjing in Chinese) and its processed product (PRP), which are used in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for cognitive enhancement and treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), have not been fully explored in terms of the different mechanisms underlying their anti-AD effects. Therefore, we used APP/PS1 mice as an AD model to assess the effects of PR and PRP on anxiety-like behaviors, cognitive function, memory performance, and pathological changes in the murine brain. UPLC-HRMS was applied to identify the components of PR and PRP that entered into the blood and brain.
