Acetaminophen (APAP) stands as one of the most prevalent triggers of drug-induced acute liver injury (ALI). The intricate modulation of immune system activation and inflammatory cascades by hepatic immune cells is paramount in managing liver injury and subsequent restoration. In this study, we employed an integrative approach that fused our proprietary flow cytometry analyses across various time points post-APAP injury with publicly available single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) datasets, encompassing time-series data from liver tissue of mice subjected to APAP intoxication.

This study delves into the correlation between the triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) index upon hospital admission and clinical outcomes among this patient population. We investigated the association between TyG-BMI at hospital admission and clinical outcomes in this patient group, and analyzed data from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV database, identifying acute pancreatitis (AP) patients admitted to ICUs and stratifying them by TyG-BMI quartiles. We assessed the relationship between TyG-BMI and mortality (both in-hospital and ICU) using Cox proportional hazards regression and restricted cubic splines.

Connexins (Cxs) are a family of transmembrane proteins located in the plasma membrane of human cells, among which connexin 43 (Cx43) is abundantly expressed in various types of human cells. Cx43, encoded by the gap junction protein alpha 1 (GJA1) gene, assembles into a hexameric structure in the Golgi apparatus and translocates to the plasma membrane to form hemichannels (Hcs), which pair with those of the cells in contact with each other and form gap junction intercellular communication (GJIC). The role of Cx43 as a connexin localized at the plasma membrane to perform channel functions is well recognized in previous studies, but recent studies have found that it can also be localized in the nucleus, mitochondria, or present in extracellular vesicles (EVs) and tunneling nanotubes (TNTs).

Introduction: Neuroinflammation contributes to secondary injury after traumatic brain injury (TBI), which has been mainly mediated by the microglia. MiR-124 was reported to play an important role in the polarization of microglia by targeting TLR4 signaling pathway. However, the role and mechanism of miR-124 in neuroinflammation mediated by microglia after TBI is unclear.

The mechanism of Golgi apparatus (GA) stress responses mediated by GOLPH3 has been widely studied in ischemic stroke, and the neuroprotection effect of olfactory mucosa mesenchymal stem cells (OM-MSCs) against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) has been preliminarily presented. However, the exact role of OM-MSCs in the GA stress response following cerebral IRI remains to be elucidated. In the present study, we used an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) model and reversible middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model to simulate cerebral IRI in vitro and in vivo.

Previous studies reported that Follistatin-like 3 (FSTL3) is abundantly expressed in several solid tumors and participate in the regulation of cell metabolism. However, the clinico-pathological significance, biological role and molecular mechanism of FSTL3 in colorectal cancer (CRC) is still unclear. Here we report that the expression level of FSTL3 in colon cancer specimens was significantly higher, compared to normal tissue and interestingly, the expression of FSTL3 was related to lymph node metastasis, tumor stage, tumor size, and intravascular emboli (IVE).
