Method: Five electronic databases are searched separately from their establishment to April 8th, 2022. The research team independently performs paper selection, quality assessment, data extraction and analysis for all included studies.

CircSMARCA5: A key circular RNA in various human diseases.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are recognized as a novel type of single-stranded endogenous noncoding RNA molecule with the characteristics of tissue specificity, sequence conservation and structural stability. Accumulating studies have shown that circRNAs play a unique biological role in different kinds of diseases. CircRNAs can affect tumor proliferation, migration, metastasis and other behaviors by modulating the expression of downstream genes.

Efficacy and safety of nafamostat mesilate anticoagulation in blood purification treatment of critically ill patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Nafamostat mesilate (NM), a broad-spectrum and potent serine protease inhibitor, can be used as an anticoagulant during extracorporeal circulation, as well as a promising drug effective against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We conducted a systematic meta-analysis to evaluate the safety and efficacy of NM administration in critically ill patients who underwent blood purification therapy (BPT).

Methods: The Cochrane Library, Web of Science and PubMed were comprehensively searched from inception to August 20, 2021, for potential studies.

The invasiveness of ground-glass nodules (GGNs) is difficult to characterize through morphological examination. Multiple studies have independently detected a close relationship between mean computed tomography value and invasiveness of GGNs, however, their relative diagnostic accuracy is uncertain. Here, we performed a meta-analysis to validate whether the mean computed tomography value can predict the invasiveness of GGNs.

Application value of joint NoSAS score and Epworth Sleepiness Scale for assessment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome.

Objective: By comparing the predictive value of the NoSAS (Neck circumference, Obesity, Snoring, Age and Sex) score combined with the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), STOP-Bang Questionnaire (STOP-Bang), STOP Questionnaire (STOP) and Berlin Questionnaire (Berlin), the application value of the NoSAS score combined with ESS in screening Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in the population is evaluated.

Method: 2560 suspected OSAHS patients visited the Sleep Medical Center of the First Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University between September 1, 2016 and October 31, 2020, and were monitored with a polysomnogram (PSG) after completing the NoSAS score, ESS, STOP-Bang, STOP and Berlin. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of each scale were calculated, and the accuracy in predicting OSAHS of the NoSAS score combined with ESS and each scale was analyzed.

Our main purpose was to evaluate health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in β-thalassemia major patients who underwent transplantation from September 2012 to November 2019. The PedsQL 4.0 scale proxy version was administered to 221 transplant patients aged 5-18 years.

Toll-Like Receptor 3 in Cardiovascular Diseases.

Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) is an important member of the innate immune response receptor toll-like receptors (TLRs) family, which plays a vital role in regulating immune response, promoting the maturation and differentiation of immune cells, and participating in the response of pro-inflammatory factors. TLR3 is activated by pathogen-associated molecular patterns and damage-associated molecular patterns, which support the pathophysiology of many diseases related to inflammation. An increasing number of studies have confirmed that TLR3, as a crucial medium of innate immunity, participates in the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) by regulating the transcription and translation of various cytokines, thus affecting the structure and physiological function of resident cells in the cardiovascular system, including vascular endothelial cells, vascular smooth muscle cells, cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts and macrophages.

Association between vitamin D supplementation and cancer incidence and mortality: A trial sequential meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Observational studies and clinical trials have evaluated the associations between vitamin D supplementation and cancer incidence/mortality and obtained mixed results. Previous meta-analyses have also yielded inconsistent conclusions. In this paper, we conduct an updated meta-analysis by including current randomized clinical trials (RCTs) to assess the association between vitamin D supplementation and cancer incidence and mortality.
