This study represents the first investigation into the ultrasonic and microwave extraction of bioactive metabolites from (red seaweed) and () (brown seaweed), with a focus on their biological activities. The research compares ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) with microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) utilizing a hydromethanolic solvent to evaluate their effects on these seaweeds' bioactive compounds and biological activities. The assessment included a series of antioxidant essays: DPPH, ABTS, phenanthroline, and total antioxidant capacity, followed by enzyme inhibition activities: alpha-amylase and urease.

Four phenolic compounds, including three phenolic acids (gallic, caffeic, and chlorogenic acids) and one flavonol (rutin), were detected by HPLC-PDA. The hydroethanol extract (HE) exhibited high antioxidant activity and inhibition of haemolysis against red blood cells.

The main goal of this study was to assess the bioactive and polysaccharide compositions, along with the antioxidant and antibacterial potentials, of five seaweeds collected from the northeastern coast of Algeria. Through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, the study investigated the elemental composition of these seaweeds and their chemical structure. In addition, this study compared and identified the biochemical makeup of the collected seaweed by using cutting-edge methods like tandem mass spectrometry and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography, and it searched for new sources of nutritionally valuable compounds.

Natural and fragrant compounds, essential oils (EOs) extracted from plants through hydrodistillation, are gaining popularity as eco-friendly and sustainable agents to protect metals and alloys from corrosion in acidic environments. This research focused on extracting and characterizing an EO obtained from the (CC) plant native to India. The study aimed to evaluate the inhibitory properties of this EO on mild steel in a 0.

Carbamate pesticides are a risk to human well-being, and pirimicarb is the most widely employed carbamate insecticide. This ongoing investigation aimed to reveal its toxicity on neurobehavioral and reproductive function. The study was carried out on male Wistar rats by assessment of behavioral changes via experiments, such as the forced swim test and the elevated plus maze; determination of oxidative stress (checking parameters such as catalase activity, etc.

Puberty is part of physiological processes including growth, adrenarche, menarche, energy balance and metabolism. This study describes the dynamic between both metabolic and reproductive statutes during pubertal growth in Saharan breed sheep. Once weaned (3 months age), two lots of lambs are made up and each one receive a barley supplementation ration of 250 vs 500 g/head/day in addition to season's diet.

Aim: The present investigation aimed to examine the therapeutic potential of the new coumarin derivative bis(4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one) coumarin (4HC) against breast cancer.
Materials And Methods: For this purpose, the effects of 4HC treatment on the proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells and on MCF-10a non-cancerous cells were evaluated using a fluorescent assay. Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were measured by image cytometry.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in women worldwide and a critical public health concern. Here we investigated the anticancer potential and effects of low-molecular-weight bridgehead oxygen and nitrogen-containing spiro-bisheterocycles on proliferation and apoptosis of the human breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. The compounds feature a hydantoin moiety attached to either diazole, isoxazole, diazepine, oxazepine or benzodiazepine via the privileged tetrahedral spiro-linkage.

When compared to the European guidelines, PM (particulate matter up to 10-μm size) concentrations in Algeria are often exceeding the maximum limits, and in general, no information exists on the compounds bound on its surface. The objective of this study was to measure the dioxin-like activity of polychlorinated dibenzodioxines and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the PM fraction at the Sour El Ghozlane cement plant in Algeria. PM samples (n = 23) were taken between 24 March and 15 April 2013, using a medium volume sampler and 47-mm PTFE filters.
