URBAN is a multicentric, ambispective study evaluating the effectiveness and safety of obinutuzumab-based immuno-chemotherapy and maintenance in patients with untreated advanced follicular lymphoma (FL). The study began before the COVID-19 emergency declaration in Italy. It is currently ongoing for follow-up, and the enrolment timeline encompassed different stages of the pandemic, various vaccination roll-out phases and prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 variants.

More than 10 years ago, the discovery of the antidepressant effects of Ketamine opened the opportunity to develop a novel class of antidepressants. Ketamine induces dissociative symptoms as a major side effect. This rapid-acting antidepressant is available as an endovenous racemic compound and as an intranasal S-enantiomer: Esketamine; which is four-fold more potent for the NMDA receptor.

Despite the success of CAR-T cell cancer immunotherapy, challenges in efficacy and safety remain. Investigators have begun to enhance CAR-T cells with the expression of accessory molecules to address these challenges. Current systems rely on constitutive transgene expression or multiple viral vectors, resulting in unregulated response and product heterogeneity.

Background And Aims: Bone fragility is recognized as a complication of type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, the fracture risk in T2D is underestimated using the classical assessment tools. An expert panel suggested the diagnostic approaches for the detection of T2D patients worthy of bone-active treatment.

Objective: The menstrual-related catamenial pneumothorax (CP) can be the first expression of thoracic endometriosis syndrome (TES), which is the presence of endometriotic lesions in the lungs and pleura, and pelvic endometriosis (PE). This study aims to analyze our experience with this specific correlation describing our multidisciplinary approach to CP.
Methods: Hospital records of 32 women, operated for CP at our Department from January 2001 to December 2021 were reviewed.

Adherence to national and international clinical practice guidelines is suboptimal throughout Europe. The European Association of Urology Guidelines Office project "IMAGINE" (IMpact Assessment of Guidelines Implementation and Education) has been developed to measure baseline adherence to urological guideline recommendations across Europe and to identify issues that drive nonadherence.

Importance: In 2016, the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) established criteria to evaluate prediction models for staging. No localized prostate cancer models were endorsed by the Precision Medicine Core committee, and 8th edition staging was based on expert consensus.
Objective: To develop and validate a pretreatment clinical prognostic stage group system for nonmetastatic prostate cancer.

Conflicts of interest (COIs) can potentially introduce a risk of bias into the assessment of evidence and the formulation of recommendations for guidelines. It is essential that a systematic process for the disclosure and management of COIs is adopted to minimise potential bias in the guideline development process.

Background: There is uncertainty in deferred active treatment (DAT) programmes, regarding patient selection, follow-up and monitoring, reclassification, and which outcome measures should be prioritised.
Objective: To develop consensus statements for all domains of DAT.
Design, Setting, And Participants: A protocol-driven, three phase study was undertaken by the European Association of Urology (EAU)-European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM)-European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO)-European Association of Urology Section of Urological Research (ESUR)-International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) Prostate Cancer Guideline Panel in conjunction with partner organisations, including the following: (1) a systematic review to describe heterogeneity across all domains; (2) a two-round Delphi survey involving a large, international panel of stakeholders, including healthcare practitioners (HCPs) and patients; and (3) a consensus group meeting attended by stakeholder group representatives.

Background: Ablepharon macrostomia syndrome (AMS) is a rare congenital malformation disorder caused by the autosomal-dominant mutations in gene TWIST2. Patients affected by the disease present abnormalities in ectoderm-derived structures mainly consisting in major facial dysmorphic features and rarely in visceral anomalies. The only laryngo-tracheal defect reported is malacia, with no reference to any anatomical stenosis.

Fronto-limbic white matter (WM) abnormalities are assumed to lie at the heart of the pathophysiology of bipolar disorder (BD); however, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies have reported heterogeneous results and it is not clear how the clinical heterogeneity is related to the observed differences. This study aimed to identify WM abnormalities that differentiate patients with BD from healthy controls (HC) in the largest DTI dataset of patients with BD to date, collected via the ENIGMA network. We gathered individual tensor-derived regional metrics from 26 cohorts leading to a sample size of N = 3033 (1482 BD and 1551 HC).

Aim: We present a series of nonHIV cocaine-inhaler subjects who underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for isolated spontaneous pneumothorax.

The introduction of novel imaging approaches for recurrent prostate cancer (PC) has paved the way for the use of nonsystemic approaches in patients with recurrent disease. While use of surgery or radiotherapy is standard for men with nodal or bone recurrence only, there are no significant data on the possible curative role of surgery for pulmonary metastases. We aimed to assess the efficacy of lung resection in patients with isolated pulmonary recurrence after radical prostatectomy (RP) for clinically localized PC.

In healthy humans, seasonality has been documented in psychological variables, chronotype, sleep, feeding, metabolic and autonomic function, thermoregulation, neurotransmission, and hormonal response to stimulation, thus representing a relevant factor to account for, especially when considering the individual susceptibility to disease. Mood is largely recognized as one of the central aspects of human behavior influenced by seasonal variations. This historical notion, already mentioned in ancient medical reports, has been recently confirmed by fMRI findings, which showed that seasonality in human cognitive brain functions may influence affective control with annual variations.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a severe illness characterized by recurrent depressive and manic episodes and by emotional dysregulation. Altered cortico-limbic connectivity could account for typical symptoms of the disorder such as mood instability, emotional dysregulation, and cognitive deficits. Functional connectivity positively associated with glutamatergic neurotransmission.

Glutamate is the principal excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. In mature brains, it is critically involved in neuroplasticity and, at high levels, neurotoxicity. The concentrations of glutamate in the extracellular space are maintained at low physiological levels by molecular glutamate transporters (excitatory amino acid transporters-EAATs).

Patient diurnal mood fluctuation, sleep characteristics and factors affecting sleep homeostasis predict antidepressant response to the combination of total sleep deprivation and light therapy (TSD + LT). In order to study if chronotype could influence response to TSD+LT, we considered 194 bipolar depressed patients. Severity of depression was rated with Hamilton Depression Rating Scale; perceived mood levels were assessed by a self-administered 10-cm visual analogue scale and chronotype was assessed using the Mornigness-Eveningness Questionnaire.

Background: The combination of three cycles of sleep deprivation (SD), light therapy (LT), and lithium has recently been proposed as a possible first-line treatment for bipolar depression. However, it is unclear whether early improvement predicts final response/remission in bipolar depression treated with this regimen.
Method: We studied 220 consecutively admitted inpatients with a major depressive episode in the course of bipolar disorder.

Background: Infections and graft-vs-host disease (GvHD) still represent major, not easily predictable complications in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (allo-HSCT). Both conditions have been correlated to altered enteric microbiome profiles during the peritransplant period. The main objective of this study was to identify possible early microbiome-based markers useful in pretransplant risk stratification.
