Background: Human papilloma virus (HPV) affects both males and females, but in South Korea, vaccination rates for boys are significantly lower due to cultural stigma and limited awareness. Effective strategies are needed to close this gap.
Methods: This study evaluated a 6-week smartphone-based HPV prevention program for mothers of school-aged boys, designed using the extended theory of planned behavior (E-TPB).

In search of novel antidiabetic agents, we synthesized a new series of chalcones with benzimidazole scaffolds by an efficient 'one-pot' nitro reductive cyclization method and evaluated their α-glucosidase and α-amylase inhibition studies. The 'one-pot' nitro reductive cyclization method offered a simple route for the preparation of benzimidazoles with excellent yield and higher purity compared to the other conventional acid- or base-catalyzed cyclization methods. H, C NMR, IR, and mass spectrum data were used to characterize the compounds.

Background/objectives: The emergence of monkeypox outside its endemic region in Africa has raised significant concerns within the public health community due to its rapid global dissemination. Early clinical differentiation of monkeypox from similar diseases, such as chickenpox and measles, presents a challenge. The Monkeypox Skin Lesion Dataset (MSLD) used in this study comprises monkeypox skin lesions, which were collected primarily from publicly accessible sources.

Heterogeneous photocatalysis has been widely explored as a promising solution for dye degradation due to its cost-effectiveness, ease of recovery, and use of green technology. Precisely, iron-doped cadmium sulfide (CdS) exhibits greater efficiency because of its higher charge separation, more electron transfer efficiency, and adsorption under visible region. In this study, two different ratios of iron-doped cadmium sulfide (CdFeS/GO) nanocomposites such as CdFeS/GO and CdFeS/GO were synthesized using the coprecipitation method and characterized with UV-Vis DRS, XRD, FT-IR, Raman, XPS, and HR-TEM.

Unlabelled: The emergence of multidrug resistance in pathogenic organisms has caused growing concern, especially among healthcare providers, necessitating the development of new antimicrobial compounds. Resistance to metal nanoparticles is more challenging for any pathogen and thus paved a new avenue of research to formulate a new line of drugs combined with metal nanoparticles to treat microbial resistance. In this present investigation, green synthesised silver (AgNP), gold (AuNP), and platinum (PtNP) nanoparticles using the rind extract of the fruit of Garcinia mangostana L.

Despite their wide usage in reducing tumors and improving patients' survival, chemotherapeutic drugs or natural compounds are facing the development of cancer resistance. Many experimental data and clinical trials have shown that combinatorial treatment could be an efficient solution for some resistance problems. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the synergistic effects of combining prodigiosin (PG), a natural compound with known anticancer properties, with the commonly used chemotherapy drugs 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), oxaliplatin, and paclitaxel.

Background And Purpose: Stimulator of interferon response cGAMP interactor 1 (STING), a central hub protein of cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-STING signalling pathway, has a crucial role in regulating type I interferons (IFNs) production and response. Recent studies indicate that excessive activation of STING is strongly associated with autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Searching immunomodulators that negatively regulate STING might greatly contribute to the suppression of autoimmunity.

Background: Empagliflozin (EMPA) is an SGLT-2 inhibitor that can control hyperglycemia. Clinical trials have indicated its cardio-protective effects against cardiac remodeling in diabetes or non-diabetes patients. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of EMPA's cardio-protective effects remain elusive.

During a study on sediment bacterial diversity in coastal China, three bacterial strains, DH-69, EH-24, and ECK-19, were isolated from coastal sediments off Xiaoshi Island, Weihai. These strains were Gram-staining-negative, aerobic, and coccoid to rod-shaped with prosthecae and flagella. Comparison of the 16S rRNA gene showed that they shared the highest identity values with Hyphococcus flavus MCCC 1K03223 (96.

Introduction: Visceral Leishmaniasis, also known as kala-azar, is a potentially fatal, neglected tropical disease caused by the protozoan parasite and transmitted through infected sandflies. It is one of the major global public health problems and contributors to economic crisis among people. Though different studies investigated human visceral leishmaniasis in Eastern Africa, the findings were inconsistent and inconclusive enough, and there is no representative data on this devastating public health concern.

The liver serves as a crucial organ for detoxification and exhibits a robust regenerative capacity. The improper administration of pharmaceuticals frequently results in drug-induced liver injury (DILI), a condition closely associated with the overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In addressing DILI, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) often employs plant-based remedies, which have demonstrated favorable therapeutic outcomes.

Rare-earth-based nanomaterials with exceptional electrochemical properties can be obtained a simple, low-cost, environment-friendly citrate-gel-matrix approach. Owing to their high specific capacitance, strong conductivity, and electrochemical stability, gallium-based materials are capable of withstanding numerous charge-discharge cycles, thus extending the life cycle of a supercapacitor. This tunability enabled researchers to alter the morphology and composition of the electrode to enhance supercapacitor performance.
