Unlabelled: This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of different forms of bullying victimization experiences and their association with family functioning, peer relationships and school connectedness among adolescents across 40 lower and middle income to high-income countries (LMIC-HICs). Data were drawn from the Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children (HBSC) school-based survey of adolescents aged 11-15 years, between 2013 and 2014. We estimated the weighted prevalence by categorising experiences into traditional bullying victimization only, cyberbullying victimization only, and combined traditional and cyberbullying victimization, at country and country income classification.

Psychometric validation of the death literacy index and benchmarking of death literacy level in a representative uk population sample.

Background: Death literacy includes the knowledge and skills that people need to gain access to, understand, and make informed choices about end of life and death care options. The Death Literacy Index (DLI) can be used to determine levels of death literacy across multiple contexts, including at a community/national level, and to evaluate the outcome of public health interventions. As the first measure of death literacy, the DLI has potential to significantly advance public health approaches to palliative care.

The human rights of both LGBTIQ+ and Indigenous peoples are far from realized. When conjoined, intersecting identities reveal how racism and queer phobia affect well-being, negating the right to health and resulting in devastating impacts on people's social, cultural, and emotional well-being. This paper documents the lived experiences of a sample of young gender- and sexuality-diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from a research project conducted in New South Wales, Australia.

Dynamic network impairments underlie cognitive fluctuations in Lewy body dementia.

Cognitive fluctuations are a characteristic and distressing disturbance of attention and consciousness seen in patients with Dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson's disease dementia. It has been proposed that fluctuations result from disruption of key neuromodulatory systems supporting states of attention and wakefulness which are normally characterised by temporally variable and highly integrated functional network architectures. In this study, patients with DLB (n = 25) and age-matched controls (n = 49) were assessed using dynamic resting state fMRI.

Transgender Parents: Negotiating "Coming Out" and Gender Affirmation with Children and Co-Parents.

This study investigated how transgender parents negotiate "coming out" and pursuit of gender affirmation (GA) with their children and co-parents. Sixty-six open-ended survey responses and 38 one-on-one interviews conducted with Australian trans parents, aged 24-67 years, were analyzed using thematic analysis. The main themes were: (i) Anticipating their Response: "Coming Out" to co-parents and children; (ii) "Having that talk"-Negotiating disclosure of trans identity with co-parents and children; and (iii) Negotiating Gender Affirmation alongside Parenting.

The study assessed the factors associated with iron, vitamin A, and Zinc deficiencies among Nepalese children (n = 1709) aged 6-59 months using data from the 2016 Nepal National Micronutrient Status Survey. Effect of sustained selective attention on steady-state visual evoked potentials.

Visual-spatial selective attention enhances the processing of task-relevant visual events while suppressing the processing of irrelevant ones. In this study, we employed a frequency-tagging paradigm to investigate how sustained visual-spatial attention modulates the first harmonic and second harmonic steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs). Unlike previous studies, that investigated stimulation durations of 10 s or less, we tested a 30-s period.

Neurotoxin-Induced Rodent Models of Parkinson's Disease: Benefits and Drawbacks.

Parkinson's disease (PD), the second most common neurodegenerative disorder, is characterized by cardinal motor impairments, including akinesia and tremor, as well as by a host of non-motor symptoms, including both autonomic and cognitive dysfunction. PD is associated with a death of nigral dopaminergic neurons, as well as the pathological spread of Lewy bodies, consisting predominantly of the misfolded protein alpha-synuclein. To date, only symptomatic treatments, such as levodopa, are available, and trials aiming to cure the disease, or at least halt its progression, have not been successful.

A Comparison of Eye Tracking Latencies Among Several Commercial Head-Mounted Displays.

A number of virtual reality head-mounted displays (HMDs) with integrated eye trackers have recently become commercially available. If their eye tracking latency is low and reliable enough for gaze-contingent rendering, this may open up many interesting opportunities for researchers. We measured eye tracking latencies for the Fove-0, the Varjo VR-1, and the High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) Vive Pro Eye using simultaneous electrooculography measurements.

Most research has mainly focused on the decline of the subjective experience in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, few attempts have been made to evaluate whether subjective experience may be maintained in AD. In this narrative review, we attempt to provide a positive view, according to which patients with AD can enjoy, to some extent, subjective experience during memory retrieval.

COVID-19 Pandemic Recession and Recovery.

This review draws pragmatic lessons for developing countries to address COVID-19-induced recessions and to sustain a developmental recovery. These recessions are unique, caused initially by supply disruptions, largely due to government-imposed 'stay-in-shelter lockdowns'. These have interacted with falling incomes and demand, declining exports (and imports), collapsing commodity prices, shrinking travel and tourism, decreasing remittances and foreign exchange shortages.

Does talking about end of life with adults with intellectual disability cause emotional discomfort or psychological harm?

Background: Caregivers often avoid involving people with intellectual disability in end-of-life discussions and activities. One reason is fear that the person may become upset or psychologically harmed.

Methods: Pre and post a 6-month intervention about end of life, we assessed depression, anxiety, and fear of death among intervention (n = 24) and comparison (n = 20) participants with intellectual disability.

Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Developing Countries: Lessons from Selected Countries of the Global South.

Reviewing selected policy responses in Asia and South America, this paper draws pragmatic lessons for developing countries to better address the COVID-19 pandemic. It argues that not acting quickly and adequately incurs much higher costs. So-called 'best practices', while useful, may be inappropriate, especially if not complemented by effective and suitable socio-economic measures.

The clinical obesity maintenance model: a structural equation model.

Purpose: Theoretical research on the psychological underpinnings of weight management is limited. Recently, the clinical obesity maintenance model (COMM) proposed a theoretical conceptualisation of salient psychological and neuropsychological mechanisms maintaining weight management issues. The current study aimed to empirically test the COMM and elucidate the results in the context of recent empirical findings.

Modelling change in neurocognition, symptoms and functioning in young people with emerging mental disorders.

Mental disorders and their functional impacts evolve dynamically over time. Neurocognition and clinical symptoms are commonly modelled as predictors of functioning, however, studies tend to rely on static variables and adult samples with chronic disorders, with limited research investigating change in these variables in young people with emerging mental disorders. These relationships were explored in a longitudinal clinical cohort of young people accessing early intervention mental health services in Australia, around three-quarters of whom presented with a mood disorder (N = 176, aged 12-30 at baseline).

Do interventions to improve adherence to antiretroviral therapy recognise diversity? A systematic review.

People living with HIV (PLWH) are often culturally and linguistically diverse populations; these differences are associated with differing barriers to antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence. Cultural competence measures the extent to which trial design recognises this diversity. This systematic review aimed to determine whether adherence trial participants represent the diversity of PLWH.

Cuing Prospective Memory With Smartphone-Based Calendars in Alzheimer's Disease.

Objectives: We investigated the effect of using smartphone-based calendars (Google and Outlook Calendar) on prospective memory in Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Methods: we recruited two groups of participants with mild AD. In one group, prospective memory was cued by a paper-and-pencil calendar, whereas in the second group prospective memory was cued by a smartphone calendar application.
