Background: Different treatments have been proposed for patients with deep gluteal syndrome (DGS). Stretching and compression exercises are commonly used to treat DGS.
Objective: To compare the effects of compression or stretching exercises on the flexion-relaxation response (electromyography signals of back muscles) in patients with DGS.

Introduction: COVID-19 affects both musculoskeletal and central nervous systems. However, there is no research on its impact on balance in mild to moderate cases. This study aims to compare static and dynamic balance, as well as fall risk, between individuals with mild to moderate COVID-19 and those without the disease.

Introduction: Using smartphones has increased exponentially, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there is a relationship between neck flexion angle during working with a smartphone and neck musculoskeletal disorders. Therefore, this study compares the effect of Kinesio taping and Repeated End Range Movements (RERM) on head and neck flexion angles changes during texting and discomfort after texting with a smartphone.

Objectives: Slump sitting at workstations has been focused on by clinicians and researchers nowadays; however, there is limited evidence to date that improper positioning affects the mental state. Accordingly, the main objective of this research was to examine the impact of slump posture on mental fatigue and task performance.
Methods: A sample of 60 participants, 30 in each group including those with normal and slump postures were recruited to perform an hour of typing on the computer.

Objective: One of the main contributors to musculoskeletal pain syndromes are myofascial trigger points (MTrPs), which are characterized by discomfort, tenderness, and restricted range of motion (ROM). In this study, patients with upper trapezius myofascial pain syndrome had their pain intensity, cervical range of motion, and disability evaluated in relation to the effectiveness of high intensity laser therapy and dry needling.
Methods: 32 participants with active upper trapezius myofascial trigger points were split into two groups at random: one group received high intensity laser treatment (n = 16), while the other received dry needling (n = 16).

Background: Individuals with chronic ankle instability (CAI) have problems in function. The purpose of this study was to systematically investigate the short- or long-term effects of various orthoses on function of these people.
Methods: Randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies reporting on the short- or long-term effects of orthotic intervention on functional performance in individuals with CAI were identified through PubMed, Cochrane Library, PEDro, MEDLINE via Ovid, and Scopus databases from inception to July 2022.

Introduction: Although the importance of trunk position sense as a clinical outcome measure related to spinal alignment has been established, there is no study evaluating the reliability of measurement techniques for trunk position sense in older adults. Hyperkyphosis is most prevalent in this population and is associated with adverse consequences.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the test-retest reliability of a measurement technique consisting of photogrammetry and angle calculation in older adults with and without hyperkyphosis.

Introduction: Stroke is a common cause of disability and death in adults, with spasticity being a common post-stroke complication that can significantly affect patients' quality of life. This study aimed to investigate the impact of exercise therapy alone versus exercise therapy combined with dry needling on clinical outcomes in patients with chronic spasticity after stroke.
Methods: Forty patients were randomly assigned to either a control or intervention group.

Qualitative researchers have underscored the value and importance of being reflexive in the research process, yet existing guidelines or checklists on how to practically address reflexivity are often scant and scattered across studies. In this scholarly perspective, we review, analyse, and present an overview of conceptions of reflexivity. Further, we offer practical guidelines for addressing and developing reflexivity statements in qualitative research.

Background: Previous metabolomics studies have indicated a close association between blood metabolites and pain. However, the causal relationship between blood metabolites and spinal pain (SP) remains unclear. This study employs a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to evaluate the causal relationship between 452 blood metabolites and SP.

Pentosidine is representative of the cross-linked structure of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and has been suggested as a biomarker to assess bone and muscle quality. As studies on pentosidine in young adult men remain limited, we aimed to clarify the associations of urinary pentosidine with musculoskeletal status and physical performance in young men. Participants in this study comprised 32 men (age range: 19-39 years).
