This study aimed to develop a modified susceptible-exposed-infected-recovered (SEIR) model to evaluate monkeypox epidemics in the United States and explore more optimized prevention and control measures. To further assess the impact of public health measures on the transmission of monkeypox, different intervention scenarios were developed based on the classic SEIR model, considering reducing contact, enhancing vaccination, diagnosis delay, and environmental transmission risk, respectively. We evaluated the impact of different measures by simulating their spread in different scenarios.

Aim: Previous studies have shown that the fibrinogen to albumin ratio (FAR) is closely related to the severity and prognosis of coronary atherosclerosis. In this study, we sought to evaluate the association between FAR and the degree of coronary artery calcification (CAC) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Methods: In this retrospective study, 218 patients with CKD were stratified into low, medium and high FAR groups according to the tertiles of the FAR values.

Introduction: The early diagnosis and detection could greatly improve the clinical outcome of gastric cancer (GC) patients. However, the non-invasive biomarkers for GC detection remain to be identified.
Method: We used online databases (GEPIA, UALCAN, Kaplan-Meier plotter, TIMER, and MEXPRESS) to explore the association between H19 or metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) expression in tissues and the occurrence, development, prognosis, the levels of immune cell infiltration, and methylation of GC; the correlation between mRNA expression and DNA methylation levels of genes were also examined.

Introduction: Brain structure or functioning abnormality in regions such as insula and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is associated with functional dyspepsia (FD) and pain empathy, but the relationship between FD and pain empathy remains unclear. The aim of this study was to compare the pain empathic abilities of FD patients and healthy controls (HCs) and investigate the association of pain empathy with clinical characteristics and quality of life of FD patients.
Methods: Pain empathic abilities was measured in 30 FD patients and 30 HCs using a validated pain empathy paradigm.

Background: The aim of this review is to explore whether patients with autoimmune diseases (AIDs) were at high risk of infection during the COVID-19 epidemic and how severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic affected immune system.
Methods: A systematic literature search was performed using the foreign databases (NCBI, web of science, EBSCO, ELSEVIER ScienceDirect) and Chinese databases (WanFang, CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), VIP, CBM) to locate all relevant publications (up to January 10, 2021). The search strategies used Medical Search Headings (MeSH) headings and keywords for "COVID-19" or "SARS-CoV-2" or "coronavirus" and "autoimmune disease".

Purpose: To analyze foveal microvascular abnormalities in different stages of diabetic retinopathy (DR) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) with projection artifact removal (PAR).
Methods: We analyzed 93 eyes of 59 patients with diabetes-31 with no DR (no DR), 34 with mild to moderate nonproliferative DR (mild DR), and 28 with severe nonproliferative DR to proliferative DR (severe DR)-and 31 age-matched healthy controls. Sections measuring 3 × 3 mm centered on the fovea were obtained using OCTA.

Objective: The present study was to explore the cancer risk for the community population living long-term in a PCP contaminated area.
