Methods And Results: A total of 242 patients with basilar artery occlusion undergoing endovascular thrombectomy were enrolled in our study, in which 172 patients from 3 stroke centers were assigned to the training cohort, and 70 patients from another center were assigned to the validation cohort. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were adopted to screen prognostic predictors, and those with significance were subjected to establish a nomogram model in the training cohort.

Background The purpose of this study was to explore the association of sleep patterns with the development of first cardiovascular diseases (FCVD), progression to cardiovascular multimorbidity (CVM), and subsequently to mortality. Methods and Results This prospective study included 381 179 participants without coronary heart disease, stroke, atrial fibrillation, or heart failure at baseline, and they were followed up until March 31, 2021. We generated sleep patterns by summing the scores for 5 sleep behaviors, whereby <7 or >8 hours/d of sleep, evening chronotype, frequent insomnia, snoring, and daytime dozing were defined as high-risk groups.

Curcumin is a polyphenol extracted from the rhizome of turmeric, and our previous research showed that curcumin inhibited cholesterol absorption and had cholesterol-lowering effect. Bisphenol A (BPA), a common plasticizer, is widely used in the manufacture of food packaging and is associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We hypothesized that curcumin could protect against BPA-induced hepatic steatosis by inhibiting cholesterol absorption and synthesis.

A time-stratified case-crossover study was conducted among 31,810 older adults who were admitted to hospital for sequelae of stroke in Guangzhou, China during 2016-2019. For each subject, daily residential exposure to fine particulate matter (PM), inhalable particulate matter (PM), sulfur dioxide (SO), nitrogen dioxide (NO), carbon monoxide (CO), and ozone (O) was extracted from a validated grid data set.
