Objective: The aging population represents a formidable global challenge, with China experiencing an accelerated demographic shift. While previous research has established a directional link between mental health literacy, social participation, and active aging, the moderating effect of socioeconomic status (SES) on these associations remains underexplored. This study sought to address this gap by employing moderated network analysis, in contrast to the total score approaches commonly used in prior literature.

Evidence Communication Rules for Policy (ECR-P) critical appraisal tool.

Background: Scientific papers increasingly put forward scientific-based policy recommendations (SPRs) as a means of closing the circle of science, policy and practice. Assessing the quality of such SPRs is crucial, especially within the context of a systematic review. Here, we present ECR-P (Evidence Communication Rules for Policy)-a critical appraisal tool that we have developed, which can be used in assessing not only the quality of SPRs but also the quality of their evidence base and how effectively these have both been communicated.

Differences in the factor structure of the Eating Attitudes Test-26 in female adolescent patients with eating disorders before and after treatment.

Objective: The Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26) is considered the screening instrument of choice to identify eating disorders (ED) symptoms in clinical and community populations, showing a classical three-factor structure. This study assessed whether the factor structure of the EAT-26 in patients with ED was stable at admission and discharge from inpatient treatment.

Methods: We administered the EAT-26 to 207 female adolescents with ED at both admission and discharge.

Introduction: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine uptake in the French Caribbean has remained below 25% since introduction in 2007, which is well behind national and international targets. Using a discrete choice experiment (DCE), we explored parental preferences around HPV vaccination and optimized communication content in a sample of parents of middle-school pupils in Guadeloupe.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey in public and private middle age schools in Guadeloupe in June 2023 using an online questionnaire.

Unlabelled: This study aimed to synthesize evidence from primary studies on the acceptability and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) for improving lifestyle behaviors and body mass index (BMI) in children with overweight or obesity. We conducted a meta-analysis or followed the Synthesis Without Meta-analysis (SWiM) guidelines to synthesize study findings. The analysis included both mindfulness-only interventions and comprehensive behavioral interventions incorporating mindfulness components.

In this study, we used the International Atomic Energy Agency Doubly Labeled Water Database to derive a predictive equation for TEE using 6,497 measures of TEE in individuals aged 4 to 96 years.

Further, reactive (RA) and proactive (PA) functional subtypes of aggression have differential relations with peer acceptance.

Factors which influence social connection among cancer caregivers: an exploratory, interview study.

Background/aims: Social connectedness is increasingly recognised as influencing health outcomes in cancer caregivers; however, there is little understanding of factors which foster feelings of social connectedness among caregivers when providing care. We sought to examine from the caregivers' perspective, factors which contribute to perceived social connection when providing care to someone with cancer.

Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 caregivers of people with cancer.

Tobacco Smoking in Early Adulthood and Labor Market Performance: The Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study.

Introduction: Tobacco smoking has been associated with reduced success in the labor market, potentially due to its negative impact on labor productivity, especially in physically demanding jobs, as it affects physical fitness and performance adversely.

Methods: This prospective study used data from the Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study survey, linked to register information on labor market outcomes and education attainment, to examine the association between tobacco smoking and long-term labor market outcomes (earnings and employment, N = 1953). Smoking levels were determined by cigarette pack-years in 2001, as reported in the survey, whereas annual earnings and employment status were tracked from 2001 to 2019.

This study investigated whether honesty is a stable trait or varies depending on situational factors. Using a coin flip guessing paradigm with monetary rewards, 33 participants completed trials with rewards ranging from 0.01 to 3 yuan.

Eye movements follow the dynamic shifts of attention through serial order in verbal working memory.

How are arbitrary sequences of verbal information retained and manipulated in working memory? Increasing evidence suggests that serial order in verbal WM is spatially coded and that spatial attention is involved in access and retrieval. Based on the idea that brain areas controlling spatial attention are also involved in oculomotor control, we used eye tracking to reveal how the spatial structure of serial order information is accessed in verbal working memory. In two experiments, participants memorized a sequence of auditory words in the correct order.

The Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) is a widely used instrument to assess burnout levels, which provides valuable insight into their psychological well-being. Accurate measurement of burnout is crucial for developing interventions aimed at reducing stress and promoting mental health among students. This study aims to validate the MBI-SS when applied among Thai university students and to examine whether the psychometric properties of the scale are consistent with the original conceptual framework.

From ideation to real context of use of a digital solution to promote physical and cognitive training for older adults.

This study describes the process of designing and developing the user interface of a digital solution aiming to promote physical and cognitive training (DanceMove) and testing for its usability by community-dwelling older adults. This study is subdivided into four phases: (i) concept and ideation, (ii) design and development of the prototype, (iii) testing of the functional mock-ups, and (iv) testing of the prototype in the laboratory and in the real context of use. Through the different phases of the study technological and healthcare professionals and users were involved.

Contributions of distractor dwelling, skipping, and revisiting to age differences in visual search.

Visual search becomes slower with aging, particularly when targets are difficult to discriminate from distractors. Multiple distractor rejection processes may contribute independently to slower search times: dwelling on, skipping of, and revisiting of distractors, measurable by eye-tracking. The present study investigated how age affects each of the distractor rejection processes, and how these contribute to the final search times in difficult (inefficient) visual search.
