This study evaluates the therapeutic impact of Fructus aurantii (FA) stir-baked with tartary buckwheat bran (TBB) on functional dyspepsia (FD), employing a reserpine at the dose of 5 mg/kg to rats. FA, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, is processed with TBB to enhance its gastrointestinal motility benefits. The study's objectives were to assess the impact of this preparation on intestinal flora, SCFA levels, and metabolomic profiles in FD.

Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) regulate substrate ubiquitination by removing ubiquitin or cleaving within ubiquitin chains, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis. Approximately 100 DUBs in humans counteract E3 ubiquitin ligases, finely balancing ubiquitination and deubiquitination processes to maintain cellular proteostasis and respond to various stimuli and stresses. Given their role in modulating ubiquitination levels of various substrates, DUBs are increasingly linked to human health and disease.

Methylglyoxal (MGO) triggers oxidative stress responses in vascular endothelial cells, leading to apoptosis linked to diabetic vascular complications. Total flavonoids of leaves (TFEL) display antioxidant activity, yet its prevention of MGO-induced apoptosis and mechanisms are unclear. Our study used western blotting and ELISA to evaluate protein levels and enzyme activities.

Purines and purinergic receptors are widely distributed throughout the human body. Purine molecules within cells play crucial roles in regulating energy metabolism and other cellular processes, while extracellular purines transmit signals through specific purinergic receptors. The ubiquitous purinergic signaling maintains normal neural excitability, digestion and absorption, respiratory movement, and other complex physiological activities, and participates in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and death.

Magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) strategy based on the FeO@PDA/MIL-101(Cr) has been proposed to separate and purify five common mycotoxins in licorice, including aflatoxin B, aflatoxin G, sterigmatocystin, zearalenone, and ochratoxin A. Integrating the MSPE and solid-liquid extraction/partitioning, a modified QuEChERS was established to adapt to the complex licorice samples. The FeO@PDA/MIL-101(Cr) was successfully synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms.

The objective of this study was to explore the effects and underlying intervention mechanisms of water extract (AWE) on abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) based on serum metabolomics. Firstly, the concentration of main active substances in AWE was determined and the chemical components were identified by UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap-MS/MS. A drug-induced abortion model was established by mifepristone and misoprostol.

Algal oil, rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and an environmentally sustainable source of ω-3 fatty acids, is receiving increasing attention. In the present study, a novel approach combining ethanolysis with a 1,3-specific immobilized lipase (Lipozyme TL IM) and molecular distillation was investigated to increase the DHA content of algal oil. Algal oil with a 45.
