Purpose: To describe 6 cases of acute central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) and the response to laser treatment, focusing on the underlying pathogenic mechanism.

Methods: Multimodal imaging from 6 eyes of 6 patients with acute and recurrent CSCR were reviewed, including fundus autofluorescence (FAF), fluorescein angiography (FA), indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) at baseline and after laser therapy.

Results: In 3 of the 6 cases with acute CSCR, the hyporeflective lucency sign was identified with cross-sectional and en face OCT and co-localized with an intense active inkblot retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) leak on FA.

Purpose: When operating near cranial motor nerves, transient postoperative weakness of target muscles lasting weeks to months is often observed. As nerves are typically intact at a procedure's completion, paresis is hypothesized to result from a combination of neurapraxia and axonotmesis. As both neurapraxia and axonotmesis involve Schwann cell injury and require remyelination, we developed an in vitro RSC96 Schwann cell model of injury using hydrogen peroxide (HO) to induce oxidative stress and investigated the efficacy of candidate therapeutic agents to promote RSC96 viability.

Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is characterized by extensive pulmonary vascular remodeling caused by plexiform and obliterative lesions, media hypertrophy, inflammatory cell infiltration, and alterations of the adventitia. We sought to test the hypothesis that microscopic IPAH vascular lesions express unique molecular profiles, which collectively are different from control pulmonary arteries. We used digital spatial transcriptomics to profile the genomewide differential transcriptomic signature of key pathological lesions (plexiform, obliterative, intima+media hypertrophy, and adventitia) in IPAH lungs ( = 11) and compared these data with the intima+media hypertrophy and adventitia of control pulmonary artery ( = 5).
