- The study analyzed the clinical characteristics of female Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) patients from the European Sleep Apnoea Database, using data from 9,710 participants.
- Four distinct clusters or phenotypes of women with OSA were identified, each with varying age, BMI, comorbidities, and severity of sleep apnea.
- The findings suggest that gender-specific phenotyping could lead to better risk assessment and tailored treatment options for women with OSA.

Previous studies aimed to determine if Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) is a valid screening instrument for obstructive sleep apnea, indicating its disadvantages. However, the rationale of PSQI use in sleep clinics is not the screening, but the assessment of sleep quality itself. Therefore, the aims of this study were to investigate the sleep quality in obstructive sleep apnea patients and to identify the cutoff point for differentiation of "good" and "poor" sleepers among them.

Objective: To investigate proliferative, apoptotic, and antiapoptotic activity of placental trophoblast in pregnancies complicated with idiopathic intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR).
Methods: Study group included data and placentas from 52 normal singleton term pregnancies with idiopathic IUGR. Records and placentas from 69 singleton pregnancies with normal fetal growth served as a control group.

Painful shoulder in patients on chronic haemodialyis is most often associated with dialysis arthropathy or accumulation of deposits containing modified fibrils of beta2- microglobuline especially in bones and joints due to insufficient elimination during the therapy. The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is connection between painful shoulder and plasma level of beta2-microglobuline and to corroborate that with morphologic parameters found in proved amyloidosis. It has to be emphasized that even other causes may contribute the development of painful shoulder.
