During last decade, bioinformatics analysis has provided an effective way to study the relationship between various genes and biological processes. In this study, we aimed to identify potential core candidate genes and underlying mechanisms of progression of lung and gastric carcinomas which both originated from endoderm. Gastric cancer (GC) is a complex multifactorial disease, and genetic factors are believed the predominant cause to the occurrence of GC. We sought to investigate the associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in ACYP2 gene and the risk of GC in the Northwest Chinese Han population. We recruited 302 GC cases and 300 controls from northwest China and selected 13 SNPs from ACYP2 gene.

We aimed to establish a new formula for estimating renal depth, based on anthropometric variables, and to compare the estimates with actual data from a group of living kidney donors undergoing computed tomography angiography (CTA).Renal depths in 167 living kidney donors were measured by CTA. Regression analysis was used to derive the formulae for estimation of renal depth of both kidneys based on patient age, sex, body height, body weight, and body mass index (BMI).

Here, the neuroprotective effects of NS11021, a selective and chemically unrelated BK channel activator, and potential molecular mechanism involved have been studied in rat cortical neurons exposed to glutamate in vitro.
