Background: Chronic sympathetic stimulation drives desensitization and downregulation of β1 adrenergic receptor (βAR) in heart failure. We aim to explore the differential downregulation subcellular pools of βAR signaling in the heart.

Methods And Results: We applied chronic infusion of isoproterenol to induced cardiomyopathy in male C57BL/6J mice.

Background To evaluate the sex-specific associations of total and regional fat/muscle mass ratio (FMR) with cardiovascular disease (CVD) incidence and mortality, and to explore the underlying mechanisms driven by cardiometabolites and inflammatory cells. We compared the predictive value of FMRs to body mass index. Methods and Results This population-based, prospective cohort study included 468 885 UK Biobank participants free of CVD at baseline.

Despite the recent development of using satellite remote sensing to predict surface NO levels in China, methods for estimating reliable historical NO exposure, especially before the establishment of NO monitoring network in 2013, are still rare. A gap-filling model was first adopted to impute the missing NO column densities from satellite, then an ensemble machine learning model incorporating three base learners was developed to estimate the spatiotemporal pattern of monthly mean NO concentrations at 0.05° spatial resolution from 2005 to 2020 in China.

Background The 10-year and lifetime cardiovascular disease risk in the population with stage 1 hypertension and the effects of recovery from and progression of stage 1 hypertension remain undetermined. Methods and Results This prospective cohort study included 96 268 individuals with blood pressure measurements obtained in 2006 and again in 2010. The 10-year cardiovascular disease risk was estimated using the multivariable Cox proportional hazards model, and the lifetime risk was calculated using a modified survival analysis that accounted for the competing risk of death.

is one of the leading nosocomial pathogens that causes both severe acute and chronic infections. The strong capacity of to form biofilms can dramatically increase its antibiotic resistance and lead to treatment failure. The biofilm resident bacterial cells display distinct gene expression profiles and phenotypes compared to their free-living counterparts.

The aim of this study is to provide evidence for the influencing factors of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) virus mutation by determining the impact of geographical and meteorological factors on SARS-CoV-2 transmission, and the different impacts of SARS-CoV-2 variant strains. From January 20 to March 10, 2020, we collected a number of daily confirmed new cases and meteorological factors in all cities and regions in China and Italy affected by the Alpha "variants of concern" (VOC). We also collected the daily confirmed cases of the Delta VOC infection in China and Italy from May 21 to November 30, 2021.
