The role of blended learning in improving medical students' academic performance: evidence from Pakistan.

Objective: The study examines the role of blended learning in improving medical students' academic performance through self-regulatory learning and technological competence and identifies the moderating role of perceived institutional support in the relationships between self-regulatory learning, perceived teacher credibility, technological competencies, and academic performance.

Methods: The study was based on behavioral learning theory as a theoretical framework, and an adapted questionnaire was used to collect the data. In total, 275 medical students participated in the study, and the data was analyzed using structural equation modeling techniques with SmartPLS.

Notably, prior experimental work compared how people behaved under competitive and non-competitive tasks that were associated with different levels of uncertainty about the reward that people would receive. We aim to experimentally disentangle the effect of competition from the effects of uncertain rewards.

Optimization of a two-stage emergency logistics system considering public psychological risk perception under earthquake disaster.

To enhance the level of emergency supplies deployment during earthquake disaster, this study focuses on emergency logistics in China. An integrated two-stage optimization framework is adopted to incorporate demand and time satisfaction indicators into the supply allocation and route optimization models, respectively. Firstly, historical data and seismic monitoring information are used to estimate the number of people affected and to forecast the need for emergency supplies; Secondly, the concept of psychological risk perception and the degree of urgency of requirements are introduced.

Spatial association network structure of agricultural carbon emission efficiency in Chinese cities and its driving factors.

In light of the Chinese government's dual carbon goals, achieving cleaner production activities has become a central focus, with regional environmental collaborative governance, including the management of agricultural carbon reduction, emerging as a mainstream approach. This study examines 268 prefecture-level cities in China, measuring the carbon emission efficiency of city agriculture from 2001 to 2022. By integrating social network analysis and a modified gravity model, the study reveals the characteristics of the spatial association network of city agricultural carbon emission efficiency in China.

Research on truck-drone collaborative route planning for rural logistics delivery services.

Supplemental Intervention for Alcohol Use Disorder Treatment Patients With a Co-Occurring Anxiety Disorder: Technical Development and Functional Testing of an Autonomous Digital Program.

Background: Anxiety disorders are common in alcohol use disorder (AUD) treatment patients. Such co-occurring conditions ("comorbidity") have negative prognostic implications for AUD treatment outcomes, yet they commonly go unaddressed in standard AUD care. Over a decade ago, we developed and validated a cognitive behavioral therapy intervention to supplement standard AUD care that, when delivered by trained therapists, improves outcomes in comorbid patients.

Coupling coordination relationship between health resource allocation and regional economic development: an empirical study based on five provinces in eastern China.

Chinese society is currently facing a significant challenge in aligning the allocation of health resources with economic development. Evaluating the level of coordinated development within the system can provide valuable insights to support the construction of a more coordinated China and foster high-quality development.

The neural mechanisms of emotional flexibility influenced by the emotional valence shift direction and preparation effect.

Emotional flexibility refers to an individual's ability to change emotional responses in constantly changing environments to adapt to different situations. This study aims to use the Emotional Switching Task (EST) paradigm, combined with Electroencephalogram (EEG) technology and behavioral experiments, to explore the impact of emotional valence shift directions and preparation effects on the switching cost of emotional flexibility. The results found that when individuals switch from positive emotional valence to positive emotional valence, the switching cost is smaller than other transition directions.

High water iodine levels are associated with the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules and goiter among pregnant women in Shandong, China.

Background: Both iodine deficiency and iodine excess can harm the thyroid glands during pregnancy. In areas without iodine fortification, the relationship between the water iodine concentration (WIC) and thyroid disease in pregnant women requires further investigation.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between water iodine levels and the prevalence of thyroid disease in pregnant women residing in areas with high water iodine levels without access to iodized salt.

Using social participation as a mediating variable, this study explored the influence of activities of daily living on anxiety in older adult people to provide scientific evidence for improving the psychological health of older adult people.

Examining the role of intrinsic and extrinsic cues from service requirement narratives in web-based time banking participation decisions.

Introduction: Time banking, known as "Community/Neighborhood Pension," instantiates a form of co-creation that can provide a new solution to fulfil the unmet social service needs of community members with idle resources, which is a feasible solution to alleviate pension pressure. The sustainable operation of time banks relies on the co-creation and active participation of community members. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the motivation of members to participate in web-based time banks from a service requirement narrative perspective.

Introduction: In recent years, the frequency and intensity of natural disasters and public emergencies around the world have been steadily increasing. Emergency logistics plays an irreplaceable role in providing rapid material and service support in the aftermath of disasters. Introduction: This study protocol specifies the primary research line and theoretical framework of the 2023 Survey of the Psychology and Behavior of the Chinese Population. It aims to establish a consistent database of Chinese residents' psychological and behavioral surveys through multi-center and large-sample cross-sectional surveys to provide robust data support for developing research in related fields. It will track the public's physical and psychological health more comprehensively and systematically.

Where we are and where we will go to achieve carbon neutrality: A review of quantitative socioeconomic modeling research.

By conducting a bibliometric analysis of 1997 scholarly publications on carbon neutrality and zero carbon emissions from 2019 to 2022, it is found that reviews of quantitative socioeconomic modeling research remain limited. To address this issue, a comprehensive review of carbon neutrality research, specifically, a systematic and synergistic review of the literature from a socioeconomic modeling perspective, is needed. The 20 clustering labels in the four largest clusters are summarized as main research streams, that is, carbon emission reduction, carbon sink and carbon capture and storage according to the definition of carbon neutral.

Evolutionary game analysis on the regulation of medical devices used in health services delivery.

Medical devices (MDs) play a critical role in healthcare delivery while also bringing potential medical risks and unintended harms to patients. Although government regulation is well recognized as a critical and essential function for ensuring the safety of MDs in many countries, the supplementary role that hospitals play is often neglected. This paper constructs a tripartite evolutionary game model involving the government, hospitals, and MDs enterprises to explore their strategic behaviors of MDs regulation in healthcare delivery.

The analysis of urban collaborative governance in public health emergencies with fuzzy theory based on BP algorithm.

This study seeks to improve urban supply chain management and collaborative governance in the context of public health emergencies (PHEs) by integrating fuzzy theory with the Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) algorithm. By combining these two approaches, an early warning mechanism for supply chain risks during PHEs is developed. The study employs Matlab software to simulate supply chain risks, incorporating fuzzy inference techniques with the adaptive data modeling capabilities of neural networks for both training and testing.

Dual-objective optimization of prefabricated component logistics based on JIT strategy.

Prefabricated construction involves manufacturing components in a factory and then transporting them to a construction site for assembly, yielding resource savings and improved efficiency.
