Alveolar bone defects caused by tooth loss often lead to challenges in implant dentistry, with a need for development of optimal bone biomaterials to predictably rebuild these tissues. To address this problem, we fabricated a novel bone block using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and Deproteinized Bovine Bone Mineral (DBBM), and characterized their mechanical and biological properties. To elucidate the mechanism underlying the failure of root formation after irradiation, we established a method of local irradiation of the molar tooth germ and demonstrated that radiation directly affected dental root development. In the current study, to locally irradiate the lower first molars of 5-day-old C57BL/6J mice, we used lead glass containing a hole as a collimator. We confirmed that our local irradiation method targeted only the tooth germ.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the stability of masticatory movement after placement of implant-supported denture. Fourteen patients (patient group) with mandibular implants denture and maxillary complete denture and 30 dentate adults (control group) were asked to chew a boiled fishpaste, and the masticatory movement was recorded using MKG. For the 10 cycles beginning with the 5th cycle of mastication, the parameters representing the stability of masticatory movement were calculated.

Therefore, the present study investigated the characteristics of the CTA pattern in orthodontic patients with non-syndromic oligodontia. Using panoramic radiographs, the number of agenetic permanent teeth excluding third molars in non-syndromic orthodontic patients was evaluated, and patients with six or more agenetic teeth (oligodontia group, n = 97) and with one to five agenetic teeth (hypodontia group, n = 107) were selected.

Human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) are mesenchymal stem cells and a promising candidate for producing human neuronal cells, however, the functional properties of differentiated hDPSCs have not yet been fully characterized.
