Background: In this study, we aimed to explore the association between baseline and early changes in the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the 30-day mortality rate in patients having anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 (MDA5)-positive dermatomyositis with interstitial lung disease (DM-ILD).
Methods: Overall, 263 patients with anti-MDA5 DM-ILD from four centers in China were analyzed. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the impact of baseline NLR on the 30-day mortality rate in patients with anti-MDA5-positive DM-ILD.

Breast cancer is one of the most aggressive types of cancer, and its early diagnosis is crucial for reducing mortality rates and ensuring timely treatment. Computer-aided diagnosis systems provide automated mammography image processing, interpretation, and grading. However, since the currently existing methods suffer from such issues as overfitting, lack of adaptability, and dependence on massive annotated datasets, the present work introduces a hybrid approach to enhance breast cancer classification accuracy.

Carbon steel and low alloy steel are pearlitic heat-resistant steels with a lamellar microstructure. There are good mechanical properties and are widely used in crucial components of high-temperature pressure. However, long-term service in high-temperature environments can easily lead to material degradation, including spheroidization, graphitization, and thermal aging.

Users may click on a news because they are interested in its content or because the news contains important information and is very popular. Modeling these two aspects is crucial for accurate news recommendation. Most existing studies focused on capturing users' preferences towards news content, and thus they are limited in investigating in depth users' preferences towards news popularity and independently capturing user content and popularity preferences.

Background/objectives: For low- and middle- income country (LMIC) settings, a global nutrition transition is rapidly emerging as diets shift, resulting in a dual burden of malnutrition. High quality dietary intake data for these populations is essential to understand dietary patterns contributing to these nutrition issues. New technology is emerging to address dietary assessment challenges; however, it is unknown how researchers conducting studies with LMIC populations or under-served groups in high-income countries adopt technology-assisted methods.

Accurately measuring the thickness of the oxide film that accumulates on nuclear fuel assemblies is critical for maintaining nuclear power plant safety. Oxide film thickness typically ranges from a few micrometers to several tens of micrometers, necessitating a high-precision measurement system. Eddy current testing (ECT) is commonly employed during poolside inspections due to its simplicity and ease of on-site implementation.

Spectrum sensing is recognized as a viable strategy to alleviate the scarcity of spectrum resources and to optimize their usage. In this paper, considering the time-varying characteristics and the dependence on various timescales within a time series of samples composed of in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) component signals, we propose a multi-scale time-correlated perceptual attention model named MSTC-PANet. The model consists of multiple parallel temporal correlation perceptual attention (TCPA) modules, enabling us to extract features at different timescales and identify dependencies among features across various timescales.

Aiming at the problems caused by a lack of feature matching due to occlusion and fixed model parameters in cross-domain person re-identification, a method based on multi-branch pose-guided occlusion generation is proposed. This method can effectively improve the accuracy of person matching and enable identity matching even when pedestrian features are misaligned. Firstly, a novel pose-guided occlusion generation module is designed to enhance the model's ability to extract discriminative features from non-occluded areas.

Target detection is a core function of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems. The traditional likelihood ratio test (LRT) target detection algorithm performs inadequately under low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions, and the performance of mainstream orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveforms declines sharply in high-speed scenarios. To address these issues, an information-theory-based orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS)-ISAC target detection processing framework is proposed.

In sports training, personalized skill assessment and feedback are crucial for athletes to master complex movements and improve performance. However, existing research on skill transfer predominantly focuses on skill evaluation through video analysis, addressing only a single facet of the multifaceted process required for skill acquisition. Furthermore, in the limited studies that generate expert comments, the learner's skill level is predetermined, and the spatial-temporal information of human movement is often overlooked.

Optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs) functioning in the spin-exchange relaxation-free (SERF) regime have emerged as attractive options for measuring weak magnetic fields, owing to their portability and remarkable sensitivity. The operation of SERF-OPM critically relies on the ambient magnetic field; thus, a magnetic field compensation device is commonly employed to mitigate the ambient magnetic field to near zero. Nonetheless, the bias of the OPM may influence the compensation impact, a subject that remains unexamined.

Recently, there has been a growing interest in underground construction safety, during activities such as subway construction, underground mining, and tunnel excavation. While Internet of Things (IoT) sensors help to monitor these conditions, large-scale deployment is limited by high power needs and complex tunnel layouts, making real-time response a critical challenge. A delay-sensitive multi-sensor multi-base-station routing scheduling method is proposed for the IoT in underground mining.

This study proposes a novel rolling bearing fault diagnosis technique based on a synchrosqueezing wavelet transform (SWT) and a transfer residual convolutional neural network (TRCNN) designed to address the difficulties of feature extraction caused by the non-stationarity of fault signals, as well as the issue of low fault diagnosis accuracy resulting from small sample quantities. This approach transforms the one-dimensional vibration signal into time-frequency diagrams using an SWT based on complex Morlet wavelet basis functions, which redistributes (squeezes) the values of the wavelet coefficients at different localized points in a time-frequency plane to the estimated instantaneous frequencies. This allows the energy to be more fully concentrated in actual corresponding frequency components.

The advent of millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, coupled with reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), presents a significant opportunity for advancing wireless communication technologies. This integration enhances data transmission rates and broadens coverage areas, but challenges in channel estimation (CE) remain due to the limitations of the signal processing capabilities of RIS. To address this, we propose an adaptive channel estimation framework comprising two algorithms: log-sum normalized least mean squares (Log-Sum NLMS) and hybrid normalized least mean squares-normalized least mean fourth (Hybrid NLMS-NLMF).

A balanced dielectric resonator filtering power divider with isolation performance is proposed. By using the coupling of the TE111y modes between three rectangle dielectric resonators, combined with balanced feed structures, the differential-mode filtering and power dividing functions, as well as the common-mode suppression were achieved effectively. Additionally, by technically utilizing the hollow structure of the stacked substrates, isolation resistor structures are introduced at the two output ports to improve the isolation level of the power divider.
