Graph neural networks have excellent performance and powerful representation capabilities, and have been widely used to handle Few-shot image classification problems. The feature extraction module of graph neural networks has always been designed as a fixed convolutional neural network (CNN), but due to the intrinsic properties of convolution operations, its receiving domain is limited. This method has limitations in capturing global feature information and easily ignores key feature information of the image.

This paper investigates the influence of industry-level overvaluation on technological acquisitions, utilizing merger and acquisition (M&A) data from Chinese listed firms spanning 2007 to 2022. Our analysis confirms that industry-level overvaluation promotes technological acquisitions, a finding that remains significant even after several robustness checks. Compared to acquirers with lower financial constraints, those with higher financial constraints rely more on industry-level overvaluation to drive technological acquisitions.

Rice production is crucial to the food security of all human beings, and how rice pests and diseases can be effectively prevented in and timely detected is a hotspot issue in the field of smart agriculture. Deep learning has become the preferred method for rice pest identification due to its excellent performance, especially in the aspect of autonomous learning of image features. However, in the natural environment, the dataset is too small and vulnerable to the complex background, which easily leads to problems such as overfitting, and too difficult to extract the fine features during the process of training.

In modern agricultural production, the severity of diseases is an important factor that directly affects the yield and quality of plants. In order to effectively monitor and control the entire production process of plants, not only the type of disease, but also the severity of the disease must be clarified. In recent years, deep learning for plant disease species identification has been widely used.

The combination of biological neurology and memristive theory has greatly promoted the development of neuromorphic computing. To build a large-scale artificial intelligence alert system, the exploration of bionic synapses compatible with standard processes has become an urgent problem to be solved in the next step. In response to the above application requirements, this paper proposes a volatile avalanche diode threshold switching (VADTS) that is fully compatible with standard semiconductor technology to simulate the various functions of the synapse.

Myocardial Injury After Temporary Transvenous Cardiac Pacing.

Ther Clin Risk Manag

May 2021

Cardiology Department, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, People's Republic of China.

Introduction: Temporary transvenous cardiac pacing (TTCP) can lead to potential penetration and occasional perforation of the right ventricular wall. No study to date has analyzed the effect of TTCP on myocardial injury by cardiac troponin (cTn) measurement. The present study was designed to investigate perioperative myocardial injury in elective TTCP in noncardiac surgical settings.

Although the original purpose of the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) classification criteria was to distinguish SLE from other mimic diseases, and to facilitate sample selection in scientific research, they have become widely used as diagnostic criteria in clinical situations. It is not known yet if regarding classification criteria as diagnostic criteria, what problems might be encountered? This is the first study comparing the three sets of classification criteria for SLE, the 1997 American College of Rheumatology (ACR'97), 2012 Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC'12) and 2019 European League Against Rheumatism/American College of Rheumatology (EULAR/ACR'19), for their ability to distinguish patients with SLE from patients with pure mucocutaneous manifestations (isolated cutaneous lupus erythematosus without internal disease, i-CLE) in the lupus disease spectrum. 1,865 patients with SLE and 232 patients with i-CLE were recruited from a multicenter study.

Bedside temporary transvenous cardiac pacemaker placement.

Am J Emerg Med

April 2020

Emergency Department, Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, Medical School of Hunan Normal University, Changsha, China.

Temporary transvenous cardiac pacing is a life-saving procedure in an emergency. Transvenous cardiac pacing catheterization guided by intracavitary electrocardiogram (IC-ECG), instead of fluoroscope, is practical. Tips for controlling the orientation of the pacing catheter tip and utilizing IC-ECG to monitor the positions of electrodes make bedside temporary transvenous cardiac pacing catheter placement feasible and 'visible'.

Although patients with rosacea often consult dermatologists for dietary factors that might be related to their skin disorders, few studies have been conducted to research the relationship between rosacea and dietary factors. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential relationship between rosacea and diet among the large Chinese population with rosacea, which would provide dietary guidelines for patients with rosacea. A multicenter case-control study was conducted.

  • Oval cells are hepatic progenitor cells that activate to become hepatocytes during severe liver injury, often amidst inflammation.
  • The study used TNFα to simulate inflammation and tested how matrilin-2 protects oval cells from cell death.
  • Results indicated that matrilin-2 prevents apoptosis in oval cells by inhibiting a specific signaling pathway, highlighting its importance for oval cell survival and proliferation in injury contexts.

To investigate the role of microRNA (miR)‑149 in the cardiac differentiation of mouse bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in vitro, MSCs were infected with a lentivirus overexpressing miR‑149 and the effect on cardiac differentiation was determined. The quantitative polymerase chain reaction results demonstrated that miR‑149 promoted the expression of cardiac‑specific markers in MSCs. Western blotting and a luciferase activity assay demonstrated that disabled homolog 2 (Dab2) was a direct target of miR‑149.

Nrf2 protects against oxidative stress induced by SiO nanoparticles.

Nanomedicine (Lond)

October 2017

Key Laboratory of Modern Toxicology of Shenzhen, Shenzhen Center for Disease Control & Prevention, Shenzhen 518055, China.

Aim: The aim of our study was to explore the role of nuclear factor erythroid 2 (NF-E2)-related factor 2 (Nrf2) on the exposure of SiO nanoparticles (NPs) and its influence.

Materials & Methods: To understand the mechanism of NP-induced oxidative stress, the involvement of oxidative-stress-responding transcription factors and the Nrf2/antioxidant reactive element (ARE) signaling pathway in the toxicity of SiO NPs' exposure was investigated via in vivo and in vitro models.

Results: A549 cells showed a significant cytotoxic effect while A549-shNrf2 cells showed decreased cell viability after nm-SiO exposure.

mTOR signalling in the nucleus accumbens shell is critical for augmented effect of TFF3 on behavioural response to cocaine.

Sci Rep

June 2016

Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, College of basic medicine, Hebei Medical University, Shijiazhuang 050017, China.

Neuropeptides play important roles in modulating the rewarding value of abused drugs. Trefoil factor 3 (TFF3) was recently reported to modulate withdrawal syndrome of morphine, but the effects of TFF3 on the cocaine-induced behavioral changes are still elusive. In the present study, cocaine-induced hyperlocomotion and conditioned place preference (CPP) rat paradigms were provided to investigate the role of TFF3 in the reward response to cocaine.
