Background: Occupational Therapy is among the top interventions for autistic children, hence the need for equitable and effective services in the public and private health and education sectors. Ongoing research into the therapies for autism spectrum disorders in different contexts is also required.

The governance of antimicrobial resistance in Brazil: Challenges for developing and implementing a one health agenda.

This article explores stakeholders' perceptions of the challenges for developing a One Health agenda to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Brazil, including the development and implementation of the Brazilian National Action Plan (BR-NAP). The data originate from 27 interviews conducted with human, environmental, and animal health stakeholders, including academics, managers, and policymakers involved in developing the BR-NAP. Through thematic analysis, we identified three interconnected themes: governance, the health system, and technical and scientific challenges.

Clinical educator's experiences of the decentralised training platform for Occupational Therapy students in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Background: In piloting a shift from traditional practice-based placements to decentralised clinical training (DCT), there was a need to explore the factors that influenced the placement as part of monitoring and evaluation. DCT involves placement to clinical sites away from the higher education institution necessitating changes to supervision strategies utilised.

Objective: This study explored the experiences of clinical educators supervising occupational therapy students within this new model during a pilot phase of the DCT programme at one institution in South Africa.

Tetrahydropyranyl: A Non-aromatic, Mild-Acid-Labile Group for Hydroxyl Protection in Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis.

The use of the tetrahydropyranyl (Thp) group for the protection of serine and threonine side-chain hydroxyl groups in solid-phase peptide synthesis has not been widely investigated. Ser/Thr side-chain hydroxyl protection with this acid-labile and non-aromatic moiety is presented here. Although Thp reacts with free carboxylic acids, it can be concluded that to introduce Thp ethers at the hydroxyl groups of N-protected Ser and Thr, protection of the C-terminal carboxyl group is unnecessary due to the lability of Thp esters.

Understanding Tetrahydropyranyl as a Protecting Group in Peptide Chemistry.

Tetrahydropyranyl (Thp) is recognized as a useful protecting group for alcohols in organic synthesis. It has several advantages, including low cost, ease of introduction, general stability to most non-acidic reagents, it confers good solubility, and the ease with which it can be removed if the functional group it protects requires manipulation. However, little attention has been paid to Thp in peptide chemistry.
