This present work investigated the influence of black rice anthocyanins as antioxidants on the oxidation stability of oil. Malonic acid, succinic acid and succinic anhydride were grafted on black rice anthocyanins through acylation method to improve their antioxidant activity in oil. The results from fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed new absorption peaks near 1744 cm and 1514 cm , which implied that malonic acid, succinic acid and succinic anhydride grafted on the -OH of glucoside and rutinoside through esterification reaction and resulted that the polarity of these were reduced.

Nitric oxide (NO), produced through the denitrification pathway, regulates biofilm dynamics through the quorum sensing system in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. NO stimulates P. aeruginosa biofilm dispersal by enhancing phosphodiesterase activity to decrease cyclic di-GMP levels.

Aldolase B (ALDOB) gene is essential for the process of glycolysis and differentially expressed in cancers. The aims of this study were to explore the potential role of ALDOB in pan-cancer, in order to deepen the research on the pathological mechanism of cancer. Hence, we used several online tools (TIMER2, GEPIA2, UALCAN, cBioPortal, and MXPRESS) and R language to identify the correlation between the ALDOB expression and survival analysis, genetic alteration, DNA methylation, and immune cell infiltration based on The Cancer Genome Atlas project.

Deep red/near-infrared (NIR, >650 nm) emissive organic luminophores with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) behaviours have emerged as promising candidates for applications in optoelectronic devices and biological fields. However, the molecular design philosophy for AIE luminogens (AIEgens) with narrow band gaps are rarely explored. Herein, we rationally designed two red organic luminophores, FITPA and FIMPA, by considering the enlargement of transition dipole moment in the charge-transfer state and the transformation from aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) to AIE.

In a gene mutation experiment, the mutagenicity of the nitrosamine compounds -diethylnitrosamine (NDEA) and -dipropylnitrosamine (NDPA) was investigated at the cellular level, as well as with PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and RCA (rolling-circle amplification) amplification systems. The experiments were set up with 10 ppm, 100 ppm, and 1000 ppm concentration gradients of NDEA and NDPA, and ethidium bromide (EB) was used as a positive control group. The results demonstrated that the mutagenic frequency of NDEA and NDPA was significantly higher than the spontaneous mutation frequency of the gene under the same conditions, but lower than the mutagenic rate of EB in the positive control, and there was a dose-effect relationship, indicating that NDEA and NDPA could induce gene mutation.

Phosphorus in the form of phosphate (Pi) is an essential element for metabolic processes, including lipid metabolism. In yeast, the inositol polyphosphate kinase mediated synthesis of inositol heptakisphosphate (IP) regulates the phosphate-responsive (PHO) signaling pathway, which plays an important role in response to Pi stress. The role of in Pi stress and lipid metabolism of has not yet been studied.

Triazole pesticides are widely used for the control of pathogenic fungi in crops, which were frequently detected in edible parts. Its extensive use has caused many environmental pollution and food safety problems. In this study, the uptake, translocation, and subcellular distribution of three triazole pesticides (triadimefon, tebuconazole, and epoxiconazole) in rice were investigated.

Bacterial biofilms formation is one of the major reasons for treatment failure in chronic wound infections. Therefore, diagnostic biomarkers remain the best option for prevention and treatment of chronic wound infections by biofilms. Herein, Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was used to mimic biofilm development in porcine skin explants wells as ex vivo wound model.

Hypoxia in aggressively proliferating tumor cells has been demonstrated to restrict the efficiency of photodynamic therapy owing to its oxygen (O )-dependent generation of singlet oxygen ( O ) from photosensitizers under light irradiation. To address this problem, we propose a small-molecule dye-based O capturing agent, B1. B1 not only bears a near-infrared absorbing azo-boron dipyrromethene backbone, but also has 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene, which facilitates the capture of O to form endoperoxide (B1-SO).

The impact of 1-(4-amino-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethanone (AHPE) from the metabolites of endophytic fungus on quorum sensing (QS) of was evaluated for the first time in this study. Exposure to AHPE at concentrations ranging from 12.5 to 50 μg/mL, the β-galactosidase activity, acyl-homoserine lactone level, swimming motility, chemotaxis, and flagella formation were significantly inhibited.

Development of an effective treatment against advanced tumors remains a major challenge for cancer immunotherapy. Approximately 50% of human melanoma is driven by B-Raf proto-oncogene mutation (BRAF mutant). Tumors with such mutation are desmoplastic, highly immunosuppressive, and often resistant to immune checkpoint therapies.

Approximately, 50% of human melanomas are driven by BRAF mutations, which produce tumors that are highly immunosuppressive and often resistant to vaccine therapy. We introduced lipid-coated calcium phosphate nanoparticles (LCP NPs) as a carrier to efficiently deliver a tumor-specific antigen, the BRAF peptide, to drive dendritic cell (DC) maturation and antigen presentation in C57BL6 mice. The BRAF peptide vaccine elicited a robust, antigen-specific cytotoxic T cell response and potent tumor growth inhibition in a murine BRAF-mutant melanoma model.

Both bursin (Lys-His-Gly-NH2) and Gagnon's peptides (Lys-Asn-Pro-Tyr) can induce B-cell differentiation. However, it is unclear whether a recombinant hybrid polypeptide consisting of a tandem array of 14 copies of bursin and two copies of Gagnon's peptide can induce the proliferative activity of lymphocytes. Here, this recombinant hybrid polypeptide was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified by SDS-PAGE.
