Purpose: To determine whether scapular morphology could predict isolated supraspinatus tendon tear propagation after exercise therapy. We hypothesised that a larger critical shoulder angle (CSA) and type III acromial morphology predict a positive change in tear size.
Methods: Fifty-nine individuals aged 40-70 years with isolated symptomatic high-grade partial or full-thickness supraspinatus tendon tears were included.

Background Sarcomere gene mutations lead to cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and pathological myocardial remodeling. However, there is considerable phenotypic heterogeneity at both the cellular and the organ level, suggesting modifiers regulate the effects of these mutations. We hypothesized that sarcomere dysfunction leads to cardiomyocyte genotoxic stress, and this modifies pathological ventricular remodeling.

Current totally implantable wireless blood flow monitors are large and cannot operate alongside nearby monitors. To alleviate the problems with the current monitors, we developed a system to monitor blood flow wirelessly, with a simple and easily interpretable real-time output. To the best of our knowledge, the implanted electronics are the smallest in reported literature, which reduces bio-burden.

In a low or middle income country, determining the correct number of routine vaccines to order at a health clinic can be difficult, especially given the variability in the number of patients arriving, minimal vaccination days and resource (e.g., information technology and refrigerator space) constraints.
