Recently, cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells have a broad application prospect in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of tumors owing to their unique characteristics of killing and targeting malignant tumors. Herein, we report a facile strategy for synthesis of monodisperse gold nanostars (GNSs) based on PEGylation and co-loaded with the photosensitizer chlorin e6 (Ce6) to form GNSs-PEG@Ce6 NPs. Then employing CIK cells loading the as-prepared GNSs-PEG@Ce6 NPs to fabricate a CIK cells-based drug delivery system (GNSs-PEG@Ce6-CIK) for lung cancer.

Tuning Electrode Work Function and Surface Energy for Solution Shearing High-Performance Organic Field-Effect Transistors.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

June 2024

Key Laboratory of Organic Integrated Circuits, Ministry of Education & Tianjin Key Laboratory of Molecular Optoelectronic Sciences, Department of Chemistry, School of Science, Tianjin University, Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemical Science and Engineering (Tianjin), Tianjin 300072, China.

A bottom-contact organic field-effect transistor (OFET) is easily adaptable to the standard lithography process because the contact electrodes are deposited before the organic semiconductor (OSC). However, the low surface energy of bare electrodes limits utilizing solution-processed single-crystal OSCs. Additionally, the bare electrode usually leads to a significant charge injection barrier, owing to its relatively low work function (WF).

Nowadays, the main obstacle for further miniaturization and integration of nucleic acids point-of-care testing devices is the lack of low-cost and high-performance heating materials for supporting reliable nucleic acids amplification. Herein, reduced graphene oxide hybridized multi-walled carbon nanotubes nano-circuit integrated into an ingenious paper-based heater is developed, which is integrated into a paper-based analytical device (named HiPAD). The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is still raging across the world.

The Cas13a system has great potential in RNA interference and molecular diagnostic fields. However, lacking guidelines for crRNA design hinders practical applications of the Cas13a system in RNA editing and single nucleotide polymorphism identification. This study posits that crRNAs with hairpin spacers improve the specificity of CRISPR/Cas13a system (termed hs-CRISPR).

The development of modular strategies for programming self-assembled supramolecular architectures with distinct structural and functional features is of immense scientific interest. We reported on the intrinsic antibacterial capability of anionic amphiphilic gold nanoclusters (GNCs) capped by -mercaptobenzoic acid, which was closely related to the protonation level of terminal carboxylate groups. By using of the metal-ligand coordination-driven and solvent evaporation-induced self-assembly, we constructed GNCs-based mixed-metal metal-organic network (MM-MON) films on titanium disks as antibacterial nanocoatings.

The rising cost of global healthcare provision and new approaches to managing disease are driving the development of low-cost biosensing modalities, such as label-free photonic methods based on dielectric resonances. Here, we use the combined sensing and imaging capability of a guided mode resonance (GMR) sensor to detect multiple biomarkers (troponin, procalcitonin and C-Reactive Protein) in parallel in undiluted urine samples. A key requirement of such a biosensor is the simple and direct functionalization with suitable antibodies to ensure the disease-specific detection of protein biomarkers.

Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) has proved to be a promising candidate in high-performance gas sensing in ambient conditions. However, trace detection of different kinds of gases with simultaneously high sensitivity and selectivity is challenging. Here, a chemiresistor-type sensor based on 3D sulfonated RGO hydrogel (S-RGOH) is reported, which can detect a variety of important gases with high sensitivity, boosted selectivity, fast response, and good reversibility.
