Multiple myeloma (MM) remains an incurable hematological malignancy that necessitates the identification of novel therapeutic strategies. In order to improve the preservation of red grape fruits, 'Chuju' polysaccharides (CCP) were cross-linked with chitosan (CS) to create CCP/CS composites with varying ratios. These composites were comprehensively characterized using FT-IR, C NMR, and SEM, which confirmed a smooth film surface and a uniform distribution of CCP. The composite films demonstrated efficacy in maintaining the quality of red grapes by mitigating shriveling and significantly reducing firmness loss by 22.

The dissolution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from coal tar at former manufactured gas plant (FMGP) sites is a long-term threat to groundwater quality. The dissolution rate is often limited by an increase in the viscosity of the non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) as the lower molecular weight compounds are depleted over time, and this slow mass transfer prevents the effective application of remediation technologies that rely on NAPL-to-water mass transfer to remove or degrade mass. Increasing subsurface temperatures has the potential to increase mass transfer at FMGP sites by increasing PAH solubility and reducing NAPL viscosity.

On 3 October 2023, a multihazard cascade in the Sikkim Himalaya, India, was triggered by 14.7 million m of frozen lateral moraine collapsing into South Lhonak Lake, generating an ~20 m tsunami-like impact wave, breaching the moraine, and draining ~50 million m of water. Soil moisture is the core of the hydrological cycle in agroecosystems, and most of the studies on soil moisture dynamics modeling adopt deterministic research methods, which are not well suited to study the hydrological processes in agricultural fields under changing conditions. Therefore, the present study adopts a stochastic approach to reveal the distribution characteristics of soil moisture in agroecosystems under the effects of soil, climate, vegetation, and other influencing factors. Using soil moisture and precipitation data and based on a stochastic model of soil moisture dynamics, the point-scale soil moisture dynamic characteristics and soil moisture probability density function of farmland systems in the Songnen Plain region were investigated.
