This study originates from the interactive relationships among sports enterprises, consumers, and regulatory authorities, proposing a logical framework for the service transformation of the sports industry. Furthermore, a three-party evolutionary game model is constructed to explore the strategic evolution and stability conditions under both single-agent and multi-agent scenarios.

We investigate the role of values in motivating the dissolution of marriage. Drawing on comprehensive value frameworks, we study how cultural values explain cross-national variation in divorce, how personal values explain further variation within nations, and how the two value systems interact together. In three archival studies, including more than 100,000 participants from over 55 countries, we study attitudes toward divorce as well as actual divorce.

Temporal-spatial evolution and formation mechanism of energy consumption carbon footprint at county scale in the Yellow River Basin.

The development and implementation of county carbon control action plans in the Yellow River Basin (YRB) are crucial for realizing the "dual carbon" goals and modernizing national governance. Utilizing remote sensing data from 2001 to 2020, this study constructs a light-carbon conversion model and a carbon footprint model to simulate the carbon footprint of county energy consumption in the YRB. Employing spatial autocorrelation and spatial Durbin models, the study examines the temporal-spatial evolution characteristics and spatial effect mechanism.

Urban pandemic governance personal protective equipment allocation strategies: a system dynamics simulation.

In the early days of the urban pandemic, many cities had personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages, which adversely affected urban pandemic governance. Using the COVID-19 strategies employed in Wuhan as the pivotal case study, this study sought to determine effective strategies to optimize city PPE distribution. System dynamics modeling was employed to explore the influence of PPE allocation strategies on pandemic control measures.

Continuity and locum use for acute consultations: observational study of subsequent workload.

Background: Workload is probably the biggest challenge facing general practice and little is known about any modifiable factors. For GPs, both continuity and locum status are associated with differences in outcomes.

Aim: To determine whether practice and hospital workload after an index acute consultation depend on the type of GP consulted (locums and practice GPs with [regular] and without [non-regular] continuity, and locums).

Assessment of synergistic governance of pollution and carbon reduction.

Based on a quasi-natural experiment with the Zero Waste Cities (ZWC) initiative launched in 2019, this study takes 14,191 Chinese A-share listed companies from 2014 to 2022 as the research object to assess the impact of the policy on pollution and carbon emission reduction through a difference-in-difference method. It highlights the superior effectiveness of ZWC in enhancing collaborative efforts towards emissions reduction, with waste reduction impacts exceeding those on carbon emissions. The success is attributed to three main channels: rigorous environmental governance, green innovation promotion by firms, and shifts in public behavior.

Since groundbreaking works in the 1980s it is well-known that simple deterministic dynamical systems can display intermittent dynamics and weak chaos leading to anomalous diffusion. A paradigmatic example is the Pomeau-Manneville (PM) map which, suitably lifted onto the whole real line, was shown to generate superdiffusion that can be reproduced by stochastic Lévy walks (LWs). Here, we report that this matching only holds for parameter values of the PM map that are of Lebesgue measure zero in its two-dimensional parameter space.

How can we make sound replication decisions?

Replication and the reported crises impacting many fields of research have become a focal point for the sciences. This has led to reforms in publishing, methodological design and reporting, and increased numbers of experimental replications coordinated across many laboratories. While replication is rightly considered an indispensable tool of science, financial resources and researchers' time are quite limited.

While both goals can encourage research with significant depth and scope, the latter can also pressure scholars to maximize publication metrics. Commercial publishing companies have capitalized on the centrality of publishing to the scientific enterprises of knowledge dissemination and academic recognition to extract large profits from academia by leveraging unpaid services from reviewers, creating financial barriers to research dissemination, and imposing substantial fees for open access.

Vulnerability to natural disasters and sustainable consumption: Unraveling political and regional differences.

The urgent calls for action on climate change underscore the importance of increasing sustainable behavior among individuals who have traditionally veered away from it, such as those on the political right. Utilizing data from four geopolitical regions across 24 countries, we explore whether vulnerability to natural disasters, brought on by either experiencing or anticipating a natural disaster, is a crucial factor. We find that as vulnerability to natural disasters increases, sustainable consumption intentions significantly increase among rightists in Western Europe, Israel, and the United States.

For forcibly displaced populations in Colombia, and especially for women, gender-based violence (GBV) poses a threat during transit and in their new homes where xenophobia, lack of accessible and adequate services, limited safe economic opportunities, and lack of information on access to services, further increase risk. The dearth of livelihood opportunities also affects forcibly displaced populations, especially women.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can gain a competitive advantage by implementing business model innovation (BMI), which is characterized as irreversible changes to a company's business model. However, BMI is often associated with high risk, uncertainty, and ambiguity. In this study, the effectiveness of BMI on improving SME performance is examined using structural equation modeling (SEM) based on data collected from 330 Chinese SMEs.

Intracellular, free-floating and biofilm-forming bacterial pathogens have been implicated in summer mortality of farmed Chinook salmon, Oncorhynchus tshawytscha, in New Zealand. A mortality event in 2022 in the Pelorus Sound, Marlborough, was linked to high water temperatures (> 18°C), and bacterial skin disease associated with Piscirickettsia spp. (=Rickettsia-like organisms) and Tenacibaculum species.

Introduction: Sensory hypersensitivity (SHS) refers to an increased sensitivity to sensory stimuli, often leading to sensory overload and adversely affecting daily functioning and well-being. This study examined the effects of three situational triggers - noise, time pressure, and cognitive load - on task performance, sensory overload, and fatigue. Additionally, we sought to explore the associations between these effects and SHS, while accounting for other influencing factors such as personality, coping mechanisms, and anxiety.
