Alzheimer's disease (AD) is recognized as the predominant cause of dementia, and neuroimmune processes play a pivotal role in its pathological progression. The involvement of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in AD has attracted widespread attention. Herein, transcriptomic analysis of 262 unique samples extracted from five hippocampal-entorhinal system subfields of individuals with AD pathology and without AD pathology revealed distinctive lncRNA expression profiles.

Syndactyly type V (SDTY5) is an autosomal dominant extremity malformation characterized by fusion of the fourth and fifth metacarpals. In the previous publication, we first identified a heterozygous missense mutation Q50R in homeobox domain (HD) of HOXD13 in a large Chinese family with SDTY5. In order to substantiate the pathogenicity of the variant and elucidate the underlying pathogenic mechanism causing limb malformation, transcription-activator-like effector nucleases (TALEN) was employed to generate a Hoxd13Q50R mutant mouse.

Epitranscriptomics focuses on the RNA-modification-mediated post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. The past decade has witnessed tremendous progress in our understanding of the landscapes and biological functions of RNA modifications, as prompted by the emergence of potent analytical approaches. The hematopoietic system provides a lifelong supply of blood cells, and gene expression is tightly controlled during the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs).

In the ALDH2 rs671 variant, a guanine changes to an adenine, resulting in a dramatic decrease in the catalytic activity of the enzyme. Population-based data are contradictory about whether this variant increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease. In East Asian populations, the prevalence of the ALDH2 rs671 variant is 30-50%, making the National Human Brain Bank for Development and Function (the largest brain bank in East Asia) an important resource to explore the link between the ALDH2 rs671 polymorphism and Alzheimer's disease pathology.

This data article describes the "Typical Regional Activity Patterns" (TRAP) dataset, which is based on the Tackling Key Problems in Air Pollution Control Program. In order to explore the interaction between air pollution and physical activity, we collected activity patterns of 9,221 residents with different occupations and lifestyles for three consecutive days in typical regions (Jinan and Baoding) where air pollutant concentrations were higher than those in neighboring areas. The TRAP dataset consists of two aspects of information: demographic indicators (personal information, occupation, personal habits, and living situation) and physical activity pattern data (activity location and intensity); additionally, the exposure measures of physical activity patterns are included, which data users can match to various endpoints for their specific purpose.

Adenosine kinase deficiency (OMIM #614300) is a type of inborn errors of metabolism with multiorgan symptoms primarily neurological disorders, hepatic impairment, global developmental delay, and mild dysmorphism. The genetic causes of adenosine kinase deficiency are homozygous or compound heterozygous loss-of-function variants of ADK. To date, fewer than 25 cases of adenosine kinase deficiency have been reported worldwide and none have been reported in China.

Cellular senescence is an irreversible and multifaceted process inducing tissue dysfunction and organismal aging, and thus the clearance of senescent cells can prevent or delay the onset of aging-related pathologies. Herein, we developed an augmented photothermal therapy strategy integrated with an antibody against β2-microglobulin (aB2MG) and an immune adjuvant imiquimod (R837) to effectively accelerate senescent cell apoptosis and clearance under a near-infrared light. With this strategy, the designed CroR@aB2MG enables the targeting of senescent cells and the application of photothermal therapy concomitantly, the initiation of immune clearance subsequently, and finally the realization of protective effects against senescence.

Glioma patients often undertake psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety. There are several clinical epidemiological studies on glioma-associated depression, but basic research and corresponding animal experiments are still lacking. Here, we observed that glioma-bearing mice exhibited atypical depression-like behaviors in orthotopic glioma mouse models.

Chlorinated polyfluorinated ether sulfonate (Cl-PFESA), a substitute for perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), has been widely used in the Chinese electroplating industry under the trade name F-53B. The production and use of F-53B is keep increasing in recent years, consequently causing more emissions into the environment. Thus, there is a growing concern about the adverse effects of F-53B on human health.

Cellular senescence significantly affects the proliferative and differentiation capacities of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Identifying key regulators of senescence and exploring potential intervention strategies, including drug-based approaches, are active areas of research. In this context, S-adenosyl-l-methionine (SAM), a critical intermediate in sulfur amino acid metabolism, emerges as a promising candidate for mitigating MSC senescence.

Background: The spinal inflammatory signal often spreads to distant segments, accompanied by widespread pain symptom under neuropathological conditions. Multiple cytokines are released into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), potentially inducing the activation of an inflammatory cascade at remote segments through CSF flow. However, the detailed alteration of CSF in neuropathic pain and its specific role in widespread pain remain obscure.

Despite intense research on mice, the transcriptional regulation of neocortical neurogenesis remains limited in humans and non-human primates. Cortical development in rhesus macaque is known to recapitulate multiple facets of cortical development in humans, including the complex composition of neural stem cells and the thicker supragranular layer. To characterize temporal shifts in transcriptomic programming responsible for differentiation from stem cells to neurons, we sampled parietal lobes of rhesus macaque at E40, E50, E70, E80, and E90, spanning the full period of prenatal neurogenesis.

Comprehensive air pollution control policies may reduce pollutant emissions. However, the impact on disease morbidity of the change for the concentration of air pollutants following the policies has been insufficiently studied. We aim to assess the impact of comprehensive air pollution control policies on the levels of six criteria air pollutants and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) morbidity in Weifang, China.

Background: Nuclear receptor-binding SET domain 2 (NSD2) is a histone methyltransferase, that catalyzes dimethylation of lysine 36 of histone 3 (H3K36me2) and is associated with active transcription of a series of genes. NSD2 is overexpressed in multiple types of solid human tumors and has been proven to be related to unfavorable prognosis in several types of tumors.
Methods: We established a mouse model in which the NSD2 gene was conditionally knocked out in intestinal epithelial cells.

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are among the most abundant infiltrating leukocytes in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Reprogramming TAMs from protumor M2 to antitumor M1 phenotype is a promising strategy for remodeling the TME and promoting antitumor immunity; however, the development of an efficient strategy remains challenging. Here, a genetically modified bacterial biomimetic vesicle (BBV) with IFN-γ exposed on the surface in a nanoassembling membrane pore structure was constructed.
