Background It has been proposed that pharmacy practice moves from product-focused to patient-focused. The major goals of pharmaceutical care are to improve the patient's quality of life, approve the safety of drug therapy, and seek to enhance the quality of life related to the patient's health within reasonable financial constraints. One of the biggest issues facing Saudi Arabia's healthcare system is including a pharmacist in the healthcare team who uses the most up-to-date pharmaceutical services and cares for the patient with medical and nursing care.

Regulation of the fluorescence through crystalizing from the matrix in the Carbon dots (CDs)-based solid-state materials has been verified to be one of the effective methods, yet there are not only challenges in preparing such materials efficiently, but also insufficient insight into their regulation mechanisms. Here, a one-pot solvothermal route to synthesize a series of CDs-based composites with crystalline matrix is reported. These crystals exhibited multicolor fluorescence with the feature of multi-peaks emissions with increasing temperatures from 140 ℃ to 220 ℃, in which the orange emitting O-CDs@PA and the yellow emitting Y-CDs@PA crystals obtained the FLQYs of 22% and 68% respectively due to relatively stable crystalline structures.

Background: Multidrug-resistant bacterial strains cause several serious infections that can be fatal, such as Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacteriaceae (often referred to as ESKAPE pathogens). Since ancient times, several indigenous medical systems in India have utilized diverse medicinal plants (approximately 80,000 species) as conventional treatments for a variety of illnesses. A member of the Fabaceae family, also referred to as "Himalayan indigo," Indigofera heterantha Wall, is well known for its therapeutic properties.

In this article, an attribute control chart is proposed when the lifetime of a product follows a Weibull distribution in two-stage sampling, which is based on the number of failures from a truncated life test. The coefficients of the proposed double sampling attribute control chart and the test duration are determined so that the average run length when the process is in control is close to the target value. An overview is reported on how double sampling np control charts work.

Every year million tons of by-products and waste from olive and orange processing are produced by agri-food industries, thus triggering environmental and economic problems worldwide. From the perspective of a circular economy model, olive leaves and orange peels can be valorized in valuable products due to the presence of bioactive compounds such as polyphenols exhibiting beneficial effects on human health. The aqueous extracts of olive leaves and orange peels rich in phenolic compounds were prepared by ultrasound-assisted extraction.

The aim of this review is to investigate barriers and enablers of diabetes self-management strategies among migrant Arabic-speaking background [ASB] individuals living with type 2 diabetes in high-income Western countries. Despite living in high-income Western countries, individuals from ASB are perceived to have difficulties adopting self-management strategies and this necessitates gaining an understanding of factors that may impact the uptake of these strategies. Ten studies are included in this review: five quantitative and five qualitative.

Background: Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) has reemerged as a major public health concern, causing chikungunya fever with increasing cases and neurological complications.
Methods: In the present study, we investigated a low-passage human isolate of the East/ Central/South African (ECSA) lineage of CHIKV strain LK(EH)CH6708, which exhibited a mix of small and large viral plaques. The small and large plaque variants were isolated and designated as CHIKV-SP and CHIKV-BP, respectively.

The rapid global economic growth driven by industrialization and population expansion has resulted in significant issues, including reliance on fossil fuels, energy scarcity, water crises, and environmental emissions. To address these issues, bioelectrochemical systems (BES) have emerged as a dual-purpose solution, harnessing electrochemical processes and the capabilities of electrochemically active microorganisms (EAM) to simultaneously recover energy and treat wastewater. This review examines critical performance factors in BES, including inoculum selection, pretreatment methods, electrodes, and operational conditions.

Understanding the mechanism of disulfide bond cleavage is important in various scientific disciplines including organic synthesis, catalysis, and biochemistry. In this study, an in silico investigation has been carried out for the dissociation of disulfide bonds using newly designed frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs). The study revealed that the cleavage of the disulfide bond by the FLP P(Bu)/B(CNBSHF) can also be used like the conventional FLP (Bu)P/B(CF).

Favipiravir is an antiviral drug used for the treatment of virus-based diseases such as influenza. In this context, the development of a reliable liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for the quantification of the drug and its impurities is necessary, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. Chromatographic separation was achieved on an inertial ODS column using gradient elution with a buffer containing triethylamine in high-performance liquid chromatography water and adjusting its pH with formic acid.

This study employs the phase-field regularized cohesion model (PF-CZM) to simulate crack propagation and damage behavior in porous granite. The impact of the pore radius (r), initial crack-pore distance (D), and pore-crack angle (θ) on crack propagation is investigated. The simulation findings reveal that, with a fixed deflection angle and initial crack-pore distance, larger pores are more likely to induce crack extension under identical loading conditions.

Rapid and low-cost sequencing, as well as computer analysis, have facilitated the diagnosis of many genetic diseases, resulting in a substantial rise in the number of disease-associated genes. However, genetic diagnosis of many disorders remains problematic due to the lack of interpretation for many genetic variants, especially missenses, the infeasibility of high-throughput experiments on mammals, and the shortcomings of computational prediction technologies. Additionally, the available mutant databases are not well-utilized.
