Trichomes are specialized epidermal structures that protect plants from biotic and abiotic stresses by synthesizing, storing, and secreting defensive compounds. This study investigates the role of the Gossypium arboreum DNA topoisomerase VI subunit B gene (GaTOP6B) in trichome development and branching. Sequence alignment revealed a high similarity between GaTOP6B and AtTOP6B, suggesting a conserved function in trichome regulation.

This study introduced an innovative magnetic effervescence-assisted microextraction method, streamlining the preparation of effervescent tablets through a one-pot method that blends a CO donor (NaCO) and an H donor (NaHPO) with bare magnetic particles (FeO) and an adsorbent (hydroxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes), followed by pressing. During the extraction process, the bare magnetic particles and adsorbent undergo in-situ self-assembly to create a magnetic adsorbent. The effervescence generates bubbles that enhance effective extraction and magnetism facilitates the easy separation of the magnetic adsorbent from the sample solution, completing the process within 4 min.

In the invivo setting, all follicular categories exhibited similar H3K4me3 and H3K9me3 patterns, and transcripts of KDM1AX1, KDM1AX2, and KDM3A were detected in all samples.

Currently available numerical models that describe the fecal contamination of aquatic environments using as an indicator bacterium did not consider its survival in sediments. We conducted a series of comparative experiments to reveal the independent and interactive effects of sediment factors, including temperature, pH, water-extractable total dissolved solids (TDSs), coexisting microbes, and sampling sites, in lake environments on survival. In experiments, survival was observed by controlling any two factors at a time.

The production of the sugars fructose and lactulose from lactose using the enzymes β-galactosidase and glucose isomerase immobilized on bacterial cellulose (BC) membranes has been investigated. Lactose is hydrolyzed by β-galactosidase at 30 °C to glucose and galactose at a high conversion rate, while at the same temperature, glucose isomerase is not effective in converting the produced glucose to fructose.
