After tooth extraction, alveolar bone absorbs unevenly, leading to soft tissue collapse, which hinders full regeneration. Bone loss makes it harder to do dental implants and repairs. Inspired by the biological architecture of bone, a deformable SIS/HA (Small intestinal submucosa/Hydroxyapatite) composite hydrogel coaxial scaffold was designed to maintain bone volume in the socket.

Bone tissue regeneration presents a significant challenge in clinical treatment due to inadequate coordination between implant materials and reparative cells at the biomaterial-bone interfaces. This gap underscores the necessity of enhancing interaction modulation between cells and biomaterials, which is a crucial focus in bone tissue engineering. Metal-polyphenolic networks (MPN) are novel inorganic-organic hybrid complexes that are formed through coordination interactions between phenolic ligands and metal ions.

Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease characterized by chronic destruction of the periodontal supporting tissues and is closely associated with the dysbiosis of the plaque biofilm. It is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. Bacterial extracellular vesicles (BEVs) are released from bacteria, which range in size from 20 to 400 nm.

Single-atom nanozymes (SAzymes), with their superior enzyme-like catalytic activity, have emerged as promising candidates for oncology therapeutics. The well-defined structures of SAzymes make them well predictable by experiences and theoretical calculation. However, the effects of metal center species and coordination environments on enzyme-like activity are variable, and screening catalytic activity by artificial experiments is challenging.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of functional loading on microgaps and microleakage at implant-abutment interfaces (IAIs) in the aesthetic zone when using different abutments and to provide a clinical reference for abutment selection.
Methods: This study included 30 patients with 36 implants divided into three groups: zirconia (Zr)-one-piece custom abutment, titanium (Ti)-custom abutment, and Ti-original abutment. Scanning electron microscopy was used to examine alterations in the microgaps at the IAIs under functional loading.

Promoting angiogenesis, alleviating oxidative stress injury and inflammation response are crucial for bone healing. Herein, the deferoxamine (DFO)-loaded gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel coating (GelMA-DFO) was constructed on the 3D-printed poly(Glycolide-Co-Caprolactone)-hydroxyapatite (PGCL-HAP) scaffold. After the hydrogel coating was established, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and water contact angle measurement were employed to evaluate the characteristic and the biological properties were assessed.

Background: Pain and disability are primary concerns for temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA) patients, and the efficacy of current treatments remains controversial. Overactive osteoclasts are associated with subchondral bone degeneration and pain in OA. The vacuolar H+-ATPase (V-ATPase) is crucial for differentiation and function in osteoclasts, but its role in TMJOA is not well defined.

On-site or in-sensor biosignal transduction and amplification can offer several benefits such as improved signal quality, reduced redundant data transmission, and enhanced system integration. Ambipolar organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) are promising for this purpose due to their high transconductance, low operating voltage, biocompatibility, and suitability for miniaturized amplifier design. However, limitations in material performance and stability have hindered their application in biosignal amplification.

Objective: This study compared the fracture load, stress distribution, and survival probability under cyclic loading of extensively restored teeth treated with multisonic irrigation with those treated with conventional instrumentation, with or without a post.
Methods: Mesial-occlusal-distal cavities were prepared in 30 human mandibular premolars. The teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups of 10 based on the endodontic and restorative procedures: (1) Root canal treatment (RCT) followed by resin composite restoration (control group), (2) RCT followed by a glass fiber post restoration (conventional group), and (3) minimal instrumentation plus multisonic irrigation followed by resin composite restoration (GW group).

Background: Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a self-limiting benign disease with slow progression in which the normal bone is replaced by dysplastic fibrous tissue. The craniofacial skeleton is one of the most commonly affected areas, and it can create unique challenges in dental implant therapy. This case aims to report an unusual presentation of FD localized in the alveolar crest bone of the edentulous site, causing special obstacles to implant placement, and provide a diagnostic and treatment process that may be referenced.

This study assessed the accuracy of robotic computer-aided implant surgery (rCAIS) in partially edentulous patients using a standard operation procedure. Patients who underwent implant placement surgeries using the robotic system under a standard operation procedure were recruited. Deviations of dental implants were calculated after superimposition of the preoperative and postoperative cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images.

This study aims to elucidate the relationship between mechanotransduction and mechanical force-induced alveolar bone remodeling during OTM.
Results: Our study confirms an asynchronous (temporal and spatial sequence) remodeling pattern of the alveolar bone under mechanical force during OTM.

Apical microsurgery is accurate and minimally invasive, produces few complications, and has a success rate of more than 90%. However, due to the lack of awareness and understanding of apical microsurgery by dental general practitioners and even endodontists, many clinical problems remain to be overcome. The consensus has gathered well-known domestic experts to hold a series of special discussions and reached the consensus.

Tooth development is a complex process of the orderly interaction between epithelium originating from the ectoderm and mesenchyme derived from cranial neural crest cells, which not only depends on cell genes regulatory network but also involves crosstalk between cells and their surrounding environment. Even within the same type of cellular populations, obvious heterogeneity may be observed. Single-cell RNA sequencing is a novel technology aimed at sequencing the transcriptome of individual cell.

The occurrence of cracked tooth is closely related to the abnormal occlusal force. The cracks existing on hard tissue of tooth cannot be self-limiting. As long as the external force exists, the cracks would continue to expand, involving the pulp, periapical, and periodontal tissues, ultimately leading to splitting and tooth loss.

In light of the lack of reliable molecular markers for odontogenic myxoma (OM), the detection of copy number variation (CNV) may present a more objective method for assessing ambiguous cases. In this study, we employed multiregional microdissection sequencing to integrate morphological features with genomic profiling. This allowed us to reveal the CNV profiles of OM and compare them with dental papilla (DP), dental follicle (DF), and odontogenic fibroma (OF) tissues.

Introduction: The periodontal ligament (PDL), a dynamic connective tissue that anchors teeth to the alveolar bone, enables tooth retention and facilitates continuous turnover. The integrity of the periodontium is maintained by periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs), whose dysfunction and senescence with age can disrupt tissue homeostasis, hinder injury repair, and lead to tooth loss, ultimately impacting overall health. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) is known for its regenerative properties and as a functional paracrine factor in stem cell therapy, but its precise role in modulating PDLSC activity remains controversial and poorly understood.

Once thought to be in a terminally differentiated state, macrophages are now understood to be highly pliable, attuned and receptive to environmental cues that control and align responses. In development of purpose, the centrality of metabolic pathways has emerged. Thus, macrophage inflammatory or reparative phenotypes are tightly linked to catabolic and anabolic metabolism, with further fine tuning of specific gene expression patterns in specific settings.
