Background And Aims: The emergence of () antibiotic resistance is an important public health problem worldwide that can negatively affect infection control. Therefore, obtaining knowledge about antibiotic resistance mechanisms is necessary for infection control policies. This study aimed to determine the frequency of class C and D β-lactamases in strains isolated from patients referred to Ardabil hospitals using phenotypic and genotypic tests.

Background: Mpox infection is a zoonotic illness that resembles smallpox. Vaccination is widely regarded as a vital effective method of preventing mpox, however, there is lack of consensus of effectiveness of a single dose of mpox vaccine in the current 2022-2023 outbreak. We pooled data from real-world studies to evaluate the efficacy of the JYNNEOS vaccination given as a single dosage.

  • Infections resistant to antibiotics, especially carbapenem-resistant ones, are a serious global health issue, particularly in cases of hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
  • The review explores sulbactam-durlobactam therapy (SUL-DUR), assessing its approval process, how it works, and its potential in treating these bacterial infections.
  • SUL-DUR, known as Xacduro, has shown safety and effectiveness in clinical trials, making it a promising treatment alternative compared to traditional options like colistin for VAP, HAP, and related infections.

  • - The study investigates the prevalence of Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) among men who have sex with men (MSM) living with HIV, identifying a considerable global burden of these co-infections.
  • - Using a systematic review and meta-analysis of 56 studies involving over 307,000 participants, researchers found a pooled prevalence of 7% for HCV and 9% for HBV among the HIV-infected MSM population.
  • - Results revealed geographic variation in prevalence rates, with the lowest rates in Asia (5.84% for HCV) and the highest in Europe (7.76% for HCV), emphasizing the need for future research on factors contributing to these

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have uncommon associations with cardiotoxicity, yet these cardiotoxic effects are associated with high mortality. An accurate assessment of risk for cardiotoxicity is essential for clinical decision-making, but data from randomized controlled trials often differ from real-world observational studies.

Methods And Results: A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Scopus was performed, including phase II and III randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies (OSs) reporting myocarditis or pericardial disease, myocardial infarction, or stroke with an immunotherapy.

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a chronic autoimmune blistering disorder characterized by the loss of intraepithelial adhesion affecting the skin and mucous membranes, predominantly affects females in their fifth and sixth decades of life. Due to its rare occurrence in children and adolescents, there is often a delay in diagnosis and treatment in this age group. PV should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of oral ulcerative and vesiculobullous lesions in both children and adolescents.

Owing to the fact that the detection limit of already existing sensor-devices is below 100% efficiency, the use of 3D nanomaterials as detectors and sensors for various pollutants has attracted interest from researchers in this field. Therefore, the sensing potentials of bare and the impact of Cu-group transition metal (Cu, Ag, Au)-functionalized silicon carbide nanotube (SiCNT) nanostructured surfaces were examined towards the efficient detection of NO gas in the atmosphere. All computational calculations were carried out using the density functional theory (DFT) electronic structure method at the B3LYP-D3(BJ)/def2svp level of theory.
