Introduction: Hypertension and dyslipidemia are common contributors to cardiovascular disease (CVD), often occurring together. Effectively Managing both is key to reducing mortality and morbidity, but complex regimens reduce adherence.
Aim: This study investigated the comparative efficacy and safety of a three-drug regimen (TAR) containing telmisartan, amlodipine, and rosuvastatin against two-drug combinations (TA and TR) for managing hypertension and dyslipidemia.

Background: Many studies evaluated the efficacy and safety of ticagrelor versus clopidogrel in patients with ischemic stroke; none of these trials included North African participants, and all of these trials comprised only participants who experienced transient ischemic attack (TIA) or minor stroke.
Objectives: We compared the efficacy and safety of ticagrelor versus clopidogrel in patients with first-ever noncardioembolic moderate or moderate-to-severe ischemic stroke.
Methods: Our trial involved 900 first-ever noncardioembolic patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) who randomly received either loading and maintenance doses of ticagrelor or clopidogrel within the first 24 h of stroke onset.

Tuberculous dactylitis can cause osteomyelitis, which is a rare extrapulmonary manifestation of tuberculosis, often misdiagnosed due to its nonspecific presentation and resemblance to other conditions like neoplasms. A 15-year-old male patient reported to our clinic with a 1-year history of left index finger pain and swelling following a football-related injury. Despite conservative management, the symptoms had progressively worsened over the past few months.

Walker-Warburg Syndrome is a genetically heterogeneous disease with autosomal recessive inheritance characterized by brain and eye deformities, profound mental retardation, congenital muscular dystrophy, and early death. This case study demonstrates a mutation on chromosome 12q14 in the TMEM5 gene (RXYLT1; 605862), which encodes a transmembrane protein with glycosyltransferase function. We present a case of a full-term male baby delivered by Cesarean section due to macrocephaly.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a chronic inflammatory condition of the upper airways caused by a type I hypersensitivity reaction triggered by environmental allergens. AR is associated with significant morbidity and affects patients' quality of life, emotional well-being, productivity, and cognitive functioning. As AR prevalence and morbidity have increased significantly worldwide, similar observations have been noted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with AR becoming a potential public health issue.

Over investigations contribute to escalating health costs driven by multiple factors including physician decisions, patient requests, information overload, technological advances, marketing, hospital management policies, insurance requirements and defensive practices. The reconciliation between knowledge and clinical wisdom while dealing with uncertainties in medicine is the primary way forward through this ethical maze. A case scenario illustrates what pediatricians need to reflect upon while facing decisions on rational investigations to maximize beneficence while being aware of economics of healthcare delivery.

Purpose: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) doubles the morbidity of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and leads to a 50% increase in mortality compared to the general population. This study aims to estimate the CVD incidence among RA patients in Saudi Arabia (SA), vital for assessing CVD burdens within this group.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study took place at two centers in the Eastern Province of SA, including all adult RA patients who visited the rheumatology clinic from 2016 to 2021 and were prescribed disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).

Background: Preoperative intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) before coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) could improve operative outcomes by augmenting the diastolic coronary blood flow. Data on preoperative IABP use in patients with left-main coronary artery (LMCA) disease are limited. This study aimed to characterize patients who received preoperative IABP before CABG for LMCA and evaluate its effect on postoperative outcomes.

Introduction: Thrombocytopenia is a common and potentially severe adverse effect of linezolid, but the time to onset during treatment has varied substantially across studies. Moreover, the time to recovery after linezolid withdrawal has not been examined in a larger patient sample.
Objective: The first objective of this study was to measure the mean time to linezolid-induced thrombocytopenia (LIT) and the second was to measure the mean time to recovery after linezolid discontinuation.
Obesity-related joint pain is a common and debilitating condition that significantly impacts the quality of life, primarily due to the excess weight straining the joints. This results in inflammation and degeneration, which can cause pain, stiffness, and difficulty moving.
