Habituated animals retain a latent capacity for robust engagement with familiar stimuli. In most instances, the ability to override habituation is best explained by postulating that habituation arises from the potentiation of inhibitory inputs onto stimulus-encoding assemblies and that habituation override occurs through disinhibition. Kinetics of the liposome/DNA complex (lipoplex) formation on a millisecond time scale are studied by monitoring time evolution of fluorescence of 8-anilino-1-naphthalene sulfonic acid (ANS) and ethidium bromide (EtBr) in a continuous flow microfluidic channel coupled to a fluorescence microscope. Septins are cytoskeletal proteins that can assemble to form heteromeric filamentous complexes and regulate a range of membrane-associated cellular functions. SEPT7, a member of the septin family, functions as a negative regulator of the plasma membrane-localized store-operated Ca entry (SOCE) channel, Orai in neurons, and in human neural progenitor cells. While much is known about the role of macrophages during inflammatory disease progression; the initial series of events that set up the inflammation remains less understood. Purpose: The aim of this work is to determine and compare the distribution and influence of higher-order aberrations (HOAs) both clinically and experimentally between different refractive errors.
Methods: Commercially available Shack-Hartmann aberrometer was employed to measure the HOA clinically in human eyes. Experimentally, HOA was measured in a model eye by simulating various refractive errors by constructing an aberrometer based on the same Shack Hartmann principle.

Virulence-factor encoding genes (VFGs) and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) of ocular Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), are the reason behind the common cause of severe and untreatable ocular infection and are largely unknown. The unavailability of the complete genome sequence of ocular MRSA strains hinders the unambiguous determination of ARGs and VRGs role in disease pathogenesis and their genomic location. To fulfill this critical need, we achieved the high-quality complete genome of four ocular MRSA strains (AMRF3 - AMRF6) by combining MinION nanopore sequencing technology, followed by polishing with Illumina sequence reads.
