In the last few years, the Deep Plane Face Lift (DPFL) has gained great popularity among plastic surgeons, even if its origins are traced back to the 1970s. Certainly, it could have some advantages but based on our experience, it can reveal some unpleasant features in the long term. For this reason, the senior authors have adopted the high superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) Face Lift for many years in their surgical practice.

Background: Breast augmentation is the second most common aesthetic surgery worldwide. Capsular contracture, a prevalent complication which affects up to 30% of patients post-surgery, often leads to further necessary surgeries.
Objectives: This study investigates the effectiveness of total capsulectomy combined with Motiva Ergonomix® implant replacement in resolving capsular contracture and minimizing recurrence rates.

Introduction: The pursuit of periorbital rejuvenation to counteract signs of aging is a focal point in cosmetic surgery, with eyelid surgery being a prominent choice among patients. Addressing inferior blepharoplasty, especially in cases involving chronic malar edema, malar mounds, and festoons, presents unique challenges. The terminology and classification of these conditions vary, hindering effective management.

Methods: A retrospective review of 45 patients who underwent nipple-sparing mastectomy and immediate prepectoral reconstruction was performed. Mastectomy flap viability was evaluated intraoperatively with indocyanine green angiography and thermography after placement of an implant sizer and again postoperatively at 24 hours.

Soft tissue defects of the lower limbs pose significant challenges in reconstructive surgery, accounting for approximately 10% of all reconstructive free flaps performed. These reconstructions often encounter higher complication rates due to various factors such as inflammation, infection, impaired blood flow, and nerve injuries. A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, reviewing literature from 2017 to 2024.

We describe a rare case of a 77-year-old woman with radiation-induced breast angiosarcoma (RIAS) in whom radical surgery with negative margins determined that at 14-month of follow-up there is no evidence of either local or systemic recurrence without having to resort to adjuvant chemotherapy.

Mastectomy skin-flap necrosis (MSFN) is one of the most feared complications of immediate implant-based breast reconstruction (IIBR). Traditionally, mastectomy skin-flap viability was based only on surgeons' clinical experience. Even though numerous studies have already addressed the patients' risk factors for MSFN, few works have focused on assessing quality of breast envelope.

Unlabelled: We report our experience in direct-to-implant breast reconstruction with prepectoral polyurethane implants, with a focus on intraoperative mastectomy flap thickness compared to preoperative data (flap thickness ratio) as a reliable predictive variable of ischemic complications and reconstructive outcomes (satisfaction with breast).
Background: The optimization of nipple sparing mastectomy and implant-based reconstruction techniques led to an increase in the popularity of prepectoral reconstruction. The aim of this study is to explore the ratio between the intraoperative and preoperative breast tissue coverage assessment as reliable tool in order to predict the risk of ischemic complications in prepectoral reconstruction.

Background: Autogenous fat grafting (AFG) is a well-known procedure utilized in addition to breast augmentation (BA) to improve breast appearance. Plastic surgeons usually estimate the ideal AFG volume relying on their personal experience based on similar previous cases: inaccurate predictions could result in incorrect evaluation of donor sites and even needless fat transfer. The purpose of this paper is to describe and prove the validity of our surgical technique and provide a simple and easy-to-use mathematical formula to assess the adequate proportion, between the volume of the implants and of the AFG, in order to obtain a natural shape and a proper volume in BA.

Introduction And Importance: Basal cell carcinomas represent the most frequent skin cancer and the nose is the most common site of presentation. This has an impact on both aesthetics and function of the nose and consequences in patients' psyche.
Case Presentation: In our paper, the first case in literature of a cutaneous fistula in the nasal soft triangle, after a basal cell carcinoma excision, and its reconstruction, is reported.

Background: Safety of reconstructive microsurgery in elderly patients is still a topic of debate, because no conclusive evidence exists that provides indications and risk evaluation in elderly patients. The purpose of this study, which the Italian Society for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (SICPRE) has promoted, is to evaluate the safety and the complication risk of elective reconstructive microsurgery in elderly patients as well as to identify patient- or procedure-related risk factors. The secondary aim is to evaluate the predictive role for complications of the Geriatric 8 score (G8).

Breast augmentation is a very requested procedure in aesthetic surgery. Over time, various techniques of breast augmentation have been described, both through the use of alloplastic materials and autologous tissues: implants, fat grafting, flap surgery, and injectable fillers. According to the international current trend to perform minimally invasive procedure, injectable fillers have progressively increased their uses and notoriety in aesthetic medicine.
