Analysis of Some Physiological and Biochemical Indices in Patients with Covid-19 Pneumonia Using Mathematical Methods.

The aim of the work was to conduct a retrospective analysis of the clinical data of patients with pneumonia caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and to determine via mathematical methods the significance of some physiological and biochemical indices as predictive markers of an unfavorable outcome of the disease. A random cohort of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia numbered 209 people. Mathematical analysis addressed the physiological characteristics of patients recorded at the time of hospital admission, as well as blood coagulation parameters and those reflecting the development of an inflammatory reaction.

A pilot study of golexanolone, a new GABA-A receptor-modulating steroid antagonist, in patients with covert hepatic encephalopathy.

Background & Aims: Golexanolone is a novel small molecule GABA-A receptor-modulating steroid antagonist under development for the treatment of cognitive and vigilance disorders caused by allosteric over-activation of GABA-A receptors by neurosteroids. It restored spatial learning and motor coordination in animal models of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and mitigated the effects of intravenous allopregnanolone in healthy adults in a dose-dependent fashion. Herein, we report data on the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK) and efficacy of golexanolone in adult patients with cirrhosis.

We forecast 1,000,000 COVID-19 cases outside of China by March 31st, 2020 based on a heuristic and WHO situation reports. We do not model the COVID-19 pandemic; we model only the number of cases. The proposed heuristic is based on a simple observation that the plot of the given data is well approximated by an exponential curve.

[Soluble forms of adhesive molecules in blood serum as a marker of endothelial dysfunction in chronic generalized parodontitis.].

An important factor in the pathogenesis of chronic inflammation in periodontitis is endothelial dysfunction (ED). Adhesion molecules are markers of impaired barrier function, adhesive properties and vascular permeability. The study of the concentration of soluble adhesion molecules is very promising in the diagnosis of ED.

This study provided analysis of the data, presenting the numbers of individuals affected in one breach and the number of breaches.

Changes of TIMP-1 and MMP-2, MMP-7 and MMP-9 of blood it has been studied at 98 patients with various cancer of skin whose age was 55±3 years. From them bazalnokletochny cancer of skin - at 39 people, planocellular cancer is skin - at 39 patients.

Combined Effect of NF-κB Inhibitor and β2-Adrenoreceptor Agonist on Mouse Mortality and Blood Concentration of Proinflammatory Cytokines in Sepsis.

Experiments on random-bred albino mice showed that NF-κB inhibitor (BAY 11-7082) and β2-adrenoreceptor agonist (dexmedetomidine hydrochloride) significantly reduced mouse mortality in 4 and 24 h after sepsis modeling (intraperitoneal administration of E. coli) by reducing blood levels of proinflammatory cytokines TNFα, IL-1β, and IL-6. The combined administration of NF-κB inhibitor and β2-adrenoreceptors agonist have an additive effect.

Role of β2-Adrenoreceptors in Adrenergic Anti-Inflammatory Mechanism in Sepsis.

[The diagnostic of chronic syndrome of disseminated intravascular blood coagulation in patients with damaged spleen in remote post-operative period.].

The study was carried out concerning analysis of coagulation homeostasis in 70 patients earlier subjected to damage of spleen because of closed trauma of abdomen. From the moment of surgical intervention passed no less than one year. The age of the examined patients varied from 20 to 50 years.
