The emergence of various diseases such as cardiovascular, aging and cancer are due to oxidative stress as well as the shortage of enough antioxidant materials. Our study was intended to analyze the anticancer, antimicrobial, wound healing as well as hepatoprotective activities of purified sulfated polysaccharides derived from The sulfated polysaccharide was subjected to partial purification using DEAE cellulose. The sulfated fraction was identified by HPLC, FTIR, H-NMR and GC-MS.

Carbazole and triphenylamine, are two well-known hole transporting units that are attached to electron transporting unit 4,5-diazafluorene in a fascinating way to bring out non-planar configuration of a molecule. The synthesized compound exhibits good thermal stability (T > 515 °C) and high glass transition temperature (T, 191 °C). Optical bandgap (E) obtained from solid state absorption spectra was calculated to be 2.

In recent times, there has been growing interest in nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized through biological means due to their ease of production and their potential applications in the field of biology. This study presents an environmentally friendly method for the biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using the leaf extract of as both a reducing agent and a capping agent. Various physico-chemical and microscopic techniques were employed to comprehensively characterize the biogenically produced AgNPs.

This work examines the feasibility of fuelling biodiesel derived from Eichhornia crassipes in a compression ignition engine. This work also proposes water hyacinth biodiesel (WHB) as a potential alternative energy source since the above species is available extensively in freshwater, marine, and aquatic ecosystems throughout the world. WHB was blended with petroleum diesel fuel at various volume proportions of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 100% and their properties were analyzed as per ASTM standards for its application as biofuel.

A simple julolidine based chemosensor (JT) was designed and synthesized by single condensation step. JT displayed excellent selectivity and sensitivity with on-off responses towards Zn and Cu over other biologically relevant metal ions in aqueous media. Upon addition of Zn ions, JT exhibited a significant blue shift in emission followed by turn-on enhancement while with Cu, the fluorescence intensity of JT was completely vanished.

New Schiff base complexes [Cu(L)Cl] (1), [Ni(L)Cl] (2), [Zn(L)Cl] (3), and [Fe(L)HOCl] (4) {L=(4E)-3-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-4-(2-hydroxyphenylimino)pentan-2-one, L=2,2'-(1E,1'E)-(3-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-pentane-2,4-diylidene)bis(azan-1-yl-1 idene)diphenol} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis, IR, FAB-mass, EPR, spectral studies and electrochemical studies, the ligands L &L were characterized by H and C NMR spectra. Complex 1 show a visible spectral d-d band near 600nm and display cyclic voltammetric quasireversible response for the Cu(II)/Cu(I) couple vs Ag/AgCl in DMSO. The EPR spectrum of 1 show g>g suggesting a square planar geometry around copper with d as the ground state.

1,5-Bis(2-fluorene)thiocarbohydrazone (FBTC) was designed and synthesized for selective sensing of fluoride and copper ions. The binding constants of FBTC towards fluoride and copper ions have been calculated using the Benesi-Hildebrand equation, and FBTC has more binding affinity towards copper ion than fluoride ion. The H NMR and C NMR titration studies strongly support the deprotonation was taken from the N-H protons followed by the formation of hydrogen bond via N-HF.

Actin-binding protein anillin (ANLN) is primarily involved in the cytokinesis and known to be dysregulated in many cancers including gastric cancer (GC). However, the regulation and clinical significance of ANLN in GC are far less clear. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the clinical significance and possible regulators of ANLN in GC.

Stomach lineage specific gene products act as a protective barrier in the normal stomach and their expression maintains the normal physiological processes, cellular integrity and morphology of the gastric wall. However, the regulation of stomach lineage specific genes in gastric cancer (GC) is far less clear. In the present study, we sought to investigate the role and regulation of stomach lineage specific gene set (SLSGS) in GC.

Tight junction protein claudin-1 (CLDN1) is mainly involved in the intercellular barrier function of epithelial cells and is known to be dysregulated in many cancer types, including gastrointestinal cancers. However, the mechanisms behind their potential involvement in the proliferation and survival of tumor cells remain unexplored. In this study we sought to investigate the potential role and possible regulators of CLDN1 in gastric cancer.

An interesting series of metal complexes of thiabendazole (tbz) is synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic studies. The crystal structure of the hydrogen bonded one dimensional Co(II) complex, namely [Co(tbz)(2)(NO(3))(H(2)O)](NO(3)) is solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex crystallizes in monoclinic space group P2(1)/a with unit cell parameters, a=14.

Rice seedlings maintained under uncontrolled glasshouse conditions were inoculated with conidial suspensions of a fungal pathogen, Helminthosporium oryzae, at various times during the 24h. Significant increase in the percent germination and germ tube length of conidia were observed in the rice samples inoculated at 02:00 and 06:00h. The 24 h temporal variation in leaf temperature was positively correlated with variation in stomatal movements.
