In this report, we describe the management and outcome of patients with newly diagnosed (ND), chronic and previous ITP, infected by COVID-19, referred to the Haematology Institute of University Hospital Policlinico Umberto I in Rome.

Role of cardiopulmonary exercise test in the prediction of hemodynamic impairment in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension.

We evaluated the correlation between RHC and cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) aiming at CPET use as a potential noninvasive tool for hemodynamic burden evaluation. Hemangiomas are developmental vascular abnormalities that are common in the head and neck (60%), rare in the oral cavity, and uncommon in the tongue. A patient performed a multi-parametric MRI, which characterized the lesion of his tongue, providing relevant information for diagnostic, therapeutic orientation, and realization of slight aggressive surgery with consequent excellent recovery.

Glutathione Infusion Before and 3 Days After Primary Angioplasty Blunts Ongoing NOX2-Mediated Inflammatory Response.

Background Glutathione is a water-soluble tripeptide with a potent oxidant scavenging activity. We hypothesized that glutathione administration immediately before and after primary angioplasty (primary percutaneous coronary intervention) could be effective in modulating immune cell activation, thereby preventing infarct expansion. Methods and Results One hundred consecutive patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction, scheduled to undergo primary percutaneous coronary intervention were randomly assigned before the intervention to receive an infusion of glutathione (2500 mg/25 mL over 10 minutes), followed by drug administration at the same doses at 24, 48, and 72 hours elapsing time or placebo.

Background: The collections of the Natural History Museum of Maputo have a crucial role in the safeguarding of Mozambique's biodiversity, representing an important repository of data and materials regarding the natural heritage of the country. Technical design features for improving the way a passive elastic filament produces propulsive thrust can be understood by analyzing the deformation of sperm-templated microrobots with segmented magnetization. Magnetic nanoparticles are electrostatically self-assembled on bovine sperm cells with nonuniform surface charge, producing different categories of sperm-templated microrobots. Depending on the amount and location of the nanoparticles on each cellular segment, magnetoelastic and viscous forces determine the wave pattern of each category during flagellar motion.
