Introduction: Essential headache is one of the main causes of pain in children, and has an important impact on their quality of life. In children with essential headaches play an important role in both triggers like stress, excessive use of video terminals, or physical fatigue but also comorbidities like anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. CoViD-19 Pandemic was very stressful, especially for children, and amplified all headache triggers and comorbidities.

Neuroimaging studies have provided evidence that extensive meditation practice modifies the functional and structural properties of the human brain, such as large-scale brain region interplay. However, it remains unclear how different meditation styles are involved in the modulation of these large-scale brain networks. Here, using machine learning and fMRI functional connectivity, we investigated how focused attention and open monitoring meditation styles impact large-scale brain networks.

Background: Current cross-sectional imaging modalities exhibit heterogenous diagnostic performances for the detection of a lymph node invasion (LNI) in bladder cancer (BCa) patients. Recently, the Node-RADS score was introduced to provide a standardized comprehensive evaluation of LNI, based on a five-item Likert scale accounting for both size and configuration criteria. In the current study, we hypothesized that the Node-RADS score accurately predicts the LNI and tested its diagnostic performance.

Background: The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) in NCCN high- and intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients. We tested for PLND nonadherence (no-PLND) rates within the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (2010-2015).
Materials And Methods: We identified all radical prostatectomy patients who fulfilled the NCCN PLND guideline criteria (n = 23,495).
Background: Ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T) is a progressive multisystemic neurodegenerative disease. The phenotypic spectrum includes conditions (variant A-T) with mild, late-onset, and atypical clinical presentations characterized by the prevalence of dyskinetic rather than ataxic features.
Cases: We describe the clinical presentations of 3 siblings with early-onset truncal ataxia without obvious neurological deterioration or biological markers of classic A-T phenotype.

Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is the most common arrhythmia after cardiac surgery in conventional extracorporeal circulation (CECC), with an incidence of 15-50%. The POAF pathophysiology is not known, and no blood biomarkers exist. However, an association between increased ferritin levels and increased AF risk, has been demonstrated.

Chronic social stress has been epidemiologically linked to increased risk for cardiovascular disease, yet the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms are still largely elusive. Mitochondrial (dys)function represents a potential intersection point between social stress exposure and (mal)adaptive cardiac responses. In this study, we used a rodent model of social stress to study the extent to which alterations in the cellular mechanical properties of the heart were associated with changes in indexes of mitochondrial function.

Introduction: Non-urothelial variant histology (VH), non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) has received little attention in contemporary urologic literature. Specifically, the effect of female sex on stage at presentation, as well as on cancer-specific mortality (CSM) have not been previously examined in VH NMIBC. Our aim was to test the effect of female sex on stage at presentation and CSM in VH NMIBC.

Cerebrovascular malformations (CVMs) such as arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) or dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) represent a possible source of intracranial hemorrhage, but these malformations can also manifest with neurologic disorders secondary to ischemic penumbra from vascular steal. In the latter case, the clinical manifestations are less obvious and characteristic, and may include a varied clinical spectrum ranging from focal deficits to generalized malfunction of the brain parenchyma resulting in dementia. Dementias secondary to CVMs constitute a probably underestimated subpopulation of patients of great interest because they present with devastating but potentially reversible cognitive impairment.

Background: In the pediatric population, the knowledge of the acute presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection is mainly limited to small series and case reports, particularly when dealing with neurological symptoms. We describe a large cohort of children with acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, focusing on the neurological manifestations and investigating correlations between disease severity and population demographics.
Methods: Patients aged 0-18 years with a positive molecular swab were recruited between April 2020 and March 2021 from a tertiary Italian pediatric centre.

Studies indicate that the dopaminergic system (DAS) supports individual flexible behaviour. While flexibility is quintessential to effective dyadic motor interactions, whether DAS mediates adaptations of one's own motor behaviour to that of a partner is not known. Here, we asked patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD) to synchronize their grasping movements with those of a virtual partner in conditions that did (Interactive) or did not (Cued) require to predict and adapt to its actions.

Background: The numbers needed to image to identify pelvic lymph node and/or distant metastases in newly diagnosed prostate cancer (PCa) patients according to risk level are unknown.
Methods: Relying on Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (2010-2016), we tabulated rates and proportions of patients with (a) lymph node or (b) distant metastases according to National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) risk level and calculated the number needed to image (NNI) for both endpoints. Multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed.

Congenital hyperinsulinism (HI) is a life-threatening condition characterized by severe and recurrent episodes of hypoglycaemia due to defects in key genes involved in regulating insulin secretion. The delay in diagnosis and inappropriate management of HI lead to high risk of permanent hypoglycemic brain injury. The management of HI is challenging as each form of HI (focal, diffuse, and atypical) requires its own therapeutic strategy.

Purpose: Giant thoracic disc herniations (GTDH) are considered a subgroup of TDHs with worse functional outcomes, a high calcification rate, and a considerable risk of complications. We aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between the extent of calcification of GTDH and outcomes concerning the risk of complications, the surgical technique, and changes in neuromonitoring signals.
Methods: We present a retrospective analysis of 76 patients undergoing surgery for calcific GTDH.
