POEMS syndrome (polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, M-protein, skin changes syndrome) is a rare condition due to an underlying plasma cell neoplasm whose clinical presentation can be various so it could lead to delayed diagnosis and treatment. The pathogenesis of the syndrome is not well understood, and its therapy is adapted from other plasma cell disorders with the aim of alleviating symptoms, decreasing end-organ damage, improving quality of life and prolonging overall survival. We report a case of a 71 years-old woman who has been treated with continuous DRd (daratumumab, lenalidomide and dexamethasone) scheme.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by differences in social communication and repetitive behaviors, often associated with atypical visual attention patterns. In this paper, the Gaze-Based Autism Classifier (GBAC) is proposed, which is a Deep Neural Network model that leverages both data distillation and data attribution techniques to enhance ASD classification accuracy and explainability. Using data sampled by eye tracking sensors, the model identifies unique gaze behaviors linked to ASD and applies an explainability technique called TracIn for data attribution by computing self-influence scores to filter out noisy or anomalous training samples.

Background/hypothesis: Motion sensitivity symptoms, such as dizziness or unsteadiness, are frequently reported as non-headache symptoms of migraine. Postural imbalance has been observed in subjects with vestibular migraine, chronic migraine, and aura. We aimed to assess the ability of largest Lyapunov's exponent for a short time series (sLLE), which reflects the ability to cope with internal perturbations during gait, to detect differences in local dynamic stability between individuals with migraine without aura (MO) with an episodic pattern between attacks and healthy subjects (HS).

Ketone bodies are molecules produced from fatty acids in the liver that act as energy carriers to peripheral tissues when glucose levels are low. Carbohydrate- and calorie-restricted diets, known to increase the levels of circulating ketone bodies, have attracted significant attention in recent years due to their potential health benefits in several diseases. Specifically, increasing ketones through dietary modulation has been reported to be beneficial for cardiovascular health and to improve glucose homeostasis and insulin resistance.

Twin pregnancies account for 3% of all pregnancies and they are burdened by higher morbidity and mortality compared to singletons. The role of ultrasound in the screening, diagnosis and management of possible complications of twin pregnancies has been widely investigated in the current literature. However, despite the progress that have been made in the last decades regarding treatment and evidence-based management of complications, twin pregnancies remain at higher risk of adverse outcomes, requiring therefore dedicated surveillance.

Early childhood development is profoundly influenced by parent-child interactions, with recent research emphasizing the crucial role fathers play alongside mothers. Paternal involvement, especially in caregiving activities like feeding, positively impacts children's cognitive, emotional, and social development. However, paternal depressive symptoms can hinder the quality of these interactions, potentially leading to long-term behavioral and emotional difficulties in children.

The intensity of respiratory treatment in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is traditionally adjusted based on oxygenation severity, as defined by the mild, moderate, and severe Berlin classifications. However, ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) is primarily determined by ventilator settings, namely tidal volume, respiratory rate, and positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP). All these variables, along with respiratory elastance, are included in the concept of mechanical power.

Immune dysregulation in Inborn Errors of Immunity (IEI) shows a broad phenotype, including autoimmune disorders, benign lymphoproliferation, and malignancies, driven by an increasing number of implicated genes. Recent findings suggest that childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) may exhibit immunological abnormalities potentially linked to an underlying IEI, along with a well-known increased risk of subsequent malignancies due to prior cancer treatments. We describe a patient with two composite heterozygous pathogenic variants in the interleukin-2-inducible T-cell kinase () gene and a history of multiple tumors, including recurrent Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-related nodular sclerosis and Hodgkin's lymphoma (NSHL), associated with unresponsive multiple hand warts, immune thrombocytopenia, and an impaired immunological profile (CD4+ lymphocytopenia, memory B-cell deficiency, reduction in regulatory T-cells, and B-cell- and T-cell-activated profiles).
