Objectives: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with extrarenal fat (perinephric or renal sinus fat) invasion is the main evidence for the T3a stage. Currently, computed tomography (CT) is still the primary modality for staging RCC. This study aims to determine the diagnostic performance of CT in RCC patients with extrarenal fat invasion.

Compared to quantitative real-time PCR (q-PCR), CRISPR-Cas-mediated technology is more suitable for point-of-care testing (POCT) and has potential for wider application in the future. Generally, the operational procedure of CRISPR-Cas-mediated diagnostic method consists of two independent steps, the reaction of signal amplification and the CRISPR-Cas-mediated signal detection. Complex multi-step procedures can easily lead to cross-contamination.

Objectives: To develop and externally validate a fully automated diagnostic convolutional neural network (CNN) model for cirrhosis based on liver MRI and serum biomarkers.
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study included consecutive patients receiving pathological evaluation of liver fibrosis stage and contrast-enhanced liver MRI between March 2010 and January 2024. On the training dataset, an MRI-based CNN model was constructed for cirrhosis against pathology, and then a combined model was developed integrating the CNN model and serum biomarkers.

Infections caused by () have emerged as a global public health concern because of high pathogenicity of this bacterium. Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) have a lower likelihood of promoting drug resistance and offer targeted treatment, thereby reducing potential adverse effects; however, the therapeutic potential of mAbs targeting i has not been fully characterized. In this study, mAbs against the outer membrane proteins (OMPs) of were isolated in a high-throughput manner.

Liver iron overload is associated with conditions such as hereditary hemochromatosis, thalassemia major, and chronic liver diseases. The liver-related outcomes, patient outcomes, and treatment recommendations of these patients differ depending on the cause and extent of iron overload. Accurate quantification of the liver iron concentration (LIC) is critical for effective patient management.

Traditional macromolecules or nanoscale Mn chelate-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents (CAs) suffer from complicated and laborious synthesis processes, relatively low kinetic stability and relaxivity, limiting their clinical applications. Herein, we fabricated a series of kinetically inert Mn chelate-backboned polymers, P(MnL-PEG), through a facile and one-pot polymerization process. Particularly, P(MnL-PEG)-3 demonstrates a significantly higher relaxivity of 23.

Background: Exercise training is fundamental in pulmonary rehabilitation (PR), but patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) often struggle with exercise intolerance. Respiratory support during exercise in COPD patients may be a beneficial adjunct therapy. In this study, the effect of different respiratory support therapy during pulmonary rehabilitation exercise training in COPD patients was assessed through a network meta-analysis.

Objectives: To develop an MRI-based score that enables individualized predictions of the survival benefit of wide over narrow resection margins.
Materials And Methods: This single-center retrospective study (December 2011 to May 2022) included consecutive patients who underwent curative-intent resection for single Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) 0/A HCC and preoperative contrast-enhanced MRI. In patients with narrow resection margins, preoperative demographic, laboratory, and MRI variables independently associated with early recurrence-free survival (RFS) were identified using Cox regression analyses, which were employed to develop a predictive score (named "MARGIN").

Establishing reliable noninvasive tools to precisely diagnose clinically significant liver fibrosis (SF, ≥F2) remains an unmet need. We aimed to build a combined radiomics-clinic (CoRC) model for triaging SF and explore the additive value of the CoRC model to transient elastography-based liver stiffness measurement (FibroScan, TE-LSM). This retrospective study recruited 595 patients with biopsy-proven liver fibrosis at two centers between January 2015 and December 2021.

ISCR28 is a fully functional and active member of the IS91-like family of insertion sequences. ISCR28 is 1,708-bp long and contains a 1,293-bp long putative open reading frame that codes a transposase. Sixty ISCR28-containing sequences from GenBank generated 27 non-repeat genetic contexts, all of which represented naturally occurring biological events that had occurred in a wide range of gram-negative organisms.

Manganese oxide nanoparticles (MONs)-based contrast agents have attracted increasing attention for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), attributed to their good biocompatibility and advantageous paramagnetism. However, conventional MONs have poor imaging performance due to low T relaxivity. Additionally, their lack of tumor-targeting theranostics capabilities and complex synthesis pathways have impeded clinical applications.
