The literature frames social learning as a critical concept when searching for sustainability and innovation. Its prominent position in various studies has raised questions about the role played by such a theory and the possibility of new research perspectives. Therefore, this paper analyzed future research directions in social learning, sustainability, and innovation through a systematic literature review.

Studies have demonstrated the neuroprotective effect of cannabidiol (CBD) and other Cannabis sativa L. derivatives on diseases of the central nervous system caused by their direct or indirect interaction with endocannabinoid system-related receptors and other molecular targets, such as the 5-HT receptor, which is a potential pharmacological target of CBD. Interestingly, CBD binding with the 5-HT receptor may be suitable for the treatment of epilepsies, parkinsonian syndromes and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, in which the 5-HT serotonergic receptor plays a key role.

Background: The safety and effectiveness of moderately hypofractionated post-operative radiation therapy for breast cancer were demonstrated by several trials. This study aimed to evaluate the current patterns of practice and prescription preference about moderately hypofractionated post-operative radiation therapy to assess possible aspects that affect the decision-making process regarding the use of fractionation in breast cancer patients in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). We also aimed to identify factors that can restrain the utilization of moderately hypofractionated post-operative radiation therapy for breast cancer.

Postgraduate Program in Health Sciences, University of Southern Santa Catarina, José Acácio Moreira Tubarão, 787, ZIP Code 88704-900 Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the bleaching effect after aging simulation in teeth submitted to bonding and debonding of orthodontic brackets.

Materials And Methods: For this study, 90 human premolars were selected, and randomly divided into 6 groups: control, bleaching, and other 4 groups submitted to bleaching after bonding and debonding brackets using different methods. Color measurement of sample through the CIE L*a*b* system was performed in three moments: T1 - after brackets debonding, T2 - after staining cycling, and T3 - after bleaching.

Advances in radiotherapy in bone metastases in the context of new target therapies and ablative alternatives: A critical review.

Radiother Oncol

October 2021

Latin America Cooperative Oncology Group (LACOG), Porto Alegre, Brazil; Radiation Oncology Unit, Santa Maria Federal University, Santa Maria, Brazil; Clínica de Radioterapia de Santa Maria, Brazil. Electronic address:

In patients with bone metastases (BM), radiotherapy (RT) is used to alleviate symptoms, reduce the risk of fracture, and improve quality of life (QoL). However, with the emergence of concepts like oligometastases, minimal invasive surgery, ablative therapies such as stereotactic ablative RT (SABR), radiosurgery (SRS), thermal ablation, and new systemic anticancer therapies, there have been a paradigm shift in the multidisciplinary approach to BM with the aim of preserving mobility and function survival. Despite guidelines on using single-dose RT in uncomplicated BM, its use remains relatively low.

Purpose: Radiation therapy is an effective modality for pain management of symptomatic bone metastases. We update the previous meta-analyses of randomized trials comparing single fraction to multiple fractions of radiation therapy in patients with uncomplicated bone metastases.

Methods: A literature search was conducted in Ovid Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register.

Background: Bone metastases cause pain, suffering and impaired quality of life (QoL). Palliative radiotherapy (RT) and/or chemotherapy are effective methods in controlling pain, reducing analgesics use and improving QoL. This study goal was to investigate the changes in QoL scores among patients who responded to palliative treatment.

Due to the widespread use of methylparaben (MEP) and its high chemical stability, it can be found in wastewater treatment plants and can act as an endocrine disrupting compound. In this study, the photocatalytic degradation and mineralization of MEP solutions were evaluated under UV-A, UV-C and Vis radiations in the presence of the photocatalyst TiO. In this sense, the effects of the catalyst load, pH and MEP initial concentration were studied.

Nitric oxide (NO) is identified as a signaling molecule involved in many cellular or physiological functions, including meiotic maturation of cattle oocytes. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of culture medium with the L-arginine (L-arg, NO synthesis precursor) in nuclear maturation of oocytes, concentrations of nitrate/nitrite, progesterone (P), and 17β-estradiol (E) in the culture medium; and the cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) intracellular concentrations in the cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) during the first hours of maturation in the presence of hemisections (HSs) of the follicular wall (control -ve). The addition of 5.

Genomic searches for P-like transposable elements were performed (1) in silico in the 12 available Drosophila genomes and (2) by PCR using degenerate primers in 21 Neotropical Drosophila species. In silico searches revealed P-like sequences only in Drosophila persimilis and Drosophila willistoni. Sixteen new P-like elements were obtained by PCR.

Unlabelled: Auditory plasticity refers to the possibility of anatomical and/or functional changes in the system where transmission of auditory information takes place. The auditory system is often required in communication; it is important to learn how the auditory system reacts to stimuli in order to improve performance in individual communication of subjects with impaired hearing.

Aim: To review the literature on auditory plasticity and the possibility and ability of plastic responses in the auditory system; also to review the evidence of auditory plasticity.

Unlabelled: It is thought that a close relationship exists between auditory processing, the acoustic reflex and speech.

Aim: A retrospective study to evaluate these three aspects in children with and without phonological disorders and seek any relationship among them.

Material Methods: 46 children were enrolled: 24 had normal speech abilities and 22 had phonological disorders.

Breast milk reduces the incidence of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). BH4 is a cofactor for endothelial NOS (eNOS). Reduced BH4 levels, or its oxidation to dihydrobiopterin (BH2), uncouple eNOS resulting in formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that have been implicated in the pathogenesis of NEC.
