Vitreous rebleed following sutureless vitrectomy: Incidence and risk factors.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the incidence and risk factors for vitreous rebleed (VRB) following 25-gauge sutureless vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage (VH) in diabetic retinopathy.

Methods: A retrospective review of 190 diabetic patients having undergone vitrectomy for VH at a tertiary eye care center was analyzed. Demographic data of patients along with risk factors such as blood sugar levels (BSL), blood pressure (BP), anticoagulant use, and pan-retinal photocoagulation status (PRP) were tabulated.

Drug-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococcal endophthalmitis following dexamethasone intravitreal implant.

A 60-year-old female came to our hospital with defective vision due to persistent diabetic macular edema and was treated with intravitreal ozurdex implant in the right eye. Three days later, the patient presented with diminution of vision, ocular pain, congestion, and hypopyon with no fundus view. B-scan ultrasonography showed vitritis, and diagnosis of endophthalmitis was made.

Bilateral retinitis following typhoid fever.

Background: Post typhoid fever immune related reactions affecting the eye is a rare finding which can have various presentations in which typhoid retinopathy is not a well recognized sequelae.

Case Presentation: Here we present a case of 59 year old male who presented with right eye sudden painless loss of vision 4 weeks after typhoid fever which was diagnosed and treated successfully. His BCVA was 2/60 in right eye and 6/6 in left eye.

Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty in South Asian Population.

Purpose: To evaluate visual outcomes, endothelial cell density and complications following Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK).

Methods: This study included 40 consecutive eyes that underwent DMEK for various pathologies involving the corneal endothelium. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and endothelial cell density (ECD) were measured and compared before and 6 months after surgery.

Non-invasive assessment of tear film stability with a novel corneal topographer in Indian subjects.

The aim of the study is to investigate the applicability of a newly developed corneal topographer in assessing tear film stability in Indian subjects. A prospective comparative study of 25 Indian subjects with dry eyes attending a tertiary eye care clinic in South India and 25 normal control subjects was conducted. The diagnosis of dry eye was made based on ocular surface disease index questionnaire.

Descemet's Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty versus Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty in the Fellow Eye for Fuchs Endothelial Dystrophy: A Retrospective Study.

Bilateral Mooren's ulcer - Customised corneal graft with additional amniotic membrane graft.

Mooren's ulcer (MU) is a rare and painful peripheral corneal ulceration which occurs in the absence of any associated scleritis, and any detectable systemic disease. A 60-year-old male patient was referred to us with bilateral peripheral corneal ulceration. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in both eyes was counting finger at one metre.

Blepharitis: always remember demodex.

Purpose: To determine the incidence and density of Demodex species on the eyelashes of subjects with normal eyelids, anterior blepharitis (AB), meibomian-gland dysfunction (MGD), and mixed blepharitis (MB).

Materials And Methods: One hundred and fifty consecutive patients diagnosed with AB, MGD, and MB were recruited. An additional 50 individuals were recruited who were free of lid and margin disease to serve as a control group.

Iris claw intraocular lens: a viable option in monocular surgical aphakia.

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of iris claw intraocular lens (IOL) implantation for correction of monocular surgical aphakia in eyes with no capsular support. This is a prospective interventional case series of 30 eyes of monocular surgical aphakia. Patients underwent posterior iris claw implantation 4 weeks after the primary surgery.

Pars plana vitrectomy with posterior iris claw implantation for posteriorly dislocated nucleus and intraocular lens.

We evaluated the safety and efficacy of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with primary posterior iris claw intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in cases of posterior dislocation of nucleus and IOL without capsular support. This was a retrospective interventional case series. Fifteen eyes underwent PPV with primary posterior iris claw IOL implantation performed by a single vitreoretinal surgeon.
