Post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) is widely prevalent in the endemic regions of India, but its treatment remains unsatisfactory. The WHO recommends a 12-week treatment with oral miltefosine, but its ocular toxicities are a serious concern. The late 1980s and early 1990s saw the use of sodium stibogluconate and amphotericin B (AmB) for a brief period.

The complex and multidimensional landscape of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) is a major global concern. Despite several years of extensive research, the precise underlying causes of T2D remain elusive, but evidence suggests that it is influenced by a myriad of interconnected risk factors such as epigenetics, genetics, gut microbiome, environmental factors, organelle stress, and dietary habits. The number of factors influencing the pathogenesis is increasing day by day which worsens the scenario; meanwhile, the interconnections shoot up the frame.

Background: Most endoscopic anti-reflux interventions for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) management are technically challenging to practice with inadequate data to support it utility. Therefore, this study was carried to evaluate the effectiveness and safety newer endoscopic full-thickness fundoplication (EFTP) device along with Argon Plasma Coagulation to treat individuals with GERD.
Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety newer EFTP device along with Argon Plasma Coagulation to treat individuals with GERD.

Introduction: The rising challenge of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) infections in Indian healthcare settings calls for clear clinical guidance on the management of these infections. The Indian consensus on the management of CRE infection in critically ill patients (ICONIC-II) is a follow-up of the ICONIC-I study, which was undertaken in 2019.
Areas Covered: A modified Delphi method was used to build expert consensus on CRE management in India, involving online surveys, face-to - face expert meetings, and a literature review.

Objectives: For this observational study, we evaluated the clinical profile of Parkinsonian features in multiple system atrophy (MSA), as there is no clarity about the specifics of these features in this disease compared to progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) and Parkinson's disease (PD).
Materials And Methods: Here, we selected 57 patients with MSA based on standard criteria and grouped them into two categories - Parkinsonian variant of MSA (MSA-P) and cerebellar variant of MSA (MSA-C). However, researchers did not distinguish among patients based on the nature of extrapyramidal syndrome or levodopa responsiveness.

The rapidly increasing burden of hypertension is responsible for premature deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD), renal disease, and stroke, with a tremendous public health and financial burden. Hypertension detection, treatment, and control vary worldwide; it is still low, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). High blood pressure (BP) and CVD risk have a strong, linear, and independent association.

Rapidly progressive renal failure (RPRF) is not typical of diabetic nephropathy and suggests non-diabetic kidney disease (NDKD). We conducted an analysis of the data of RPRF patients (28 diabetic and 88 non-diabetic patients) with doubled creatinine over 2 weeks to 3 months and/or presented with >4 mg serum creatinine without prior renal disease to ascertain the types of lesions and compare the patients' histopathology. The primary outcome was dependence on dialysis at 1 year.

It is crucial to develop a long-term therapy that targets hemophilia A and B, including inhibitor-positive patients. We have developed an Adeno-associated virus (AAV) based strategy to integrate the bypass coagulation factor, activated FVII (murine, mFVIIa) gene into the Rosa26 locus using Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR)/Cas9 mediated gene-editing. AAV vectors designed for expression of guide RNA (AAV8-gRNA), Cas9 (AAV2 neddylation mutant-Cas9), and mFVIIa (AAV8-mFVIIa) flanked by homology arms of the target locus were validated in vitro.

Thunderclap headache is a sudden severe headache with onset to peak within one minute. Multiple excruciating, short-lived thunderclap headaches over a few days to weeks are highly suggestive of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS). RCVS can be primary or secondary to several factors, but it is rarely described after neuro-endovascular procedures using onyx material.

Objectives: Pain is classified as nociceptive, neuropathic, or nociplastic. Neuropathic pain presents as variable phenotypes (characters) based on specific aetiology and pathophysiology. This study aimed to find out among cancer patients the incidence of different phenotypes of neuropathic pain and form specific phenotypic clusters based on the underlying neurophysiology and association of sensory profile with various organ systems - A prospective observational study.

This presentation showcases an endoscopic minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) technique for lumbar interbody fusion. Significantly expanding the scope of Destandau's system within MISS, it serves as a pivotal link to unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) for endofusion. The method involves minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF) using a 4-mm rigid endoscope through Destandau's system.

SUMO (Small Ubiquitin-like Modifiers) proteins are involved in a crucial post-translational modification commonly termed as SUMOylation. In this work, we have investigated the native-state conformational flexibility of human SUMO2 and its interaction with Cu and Zn ions using N-H based 2D NMR spectroscopy. After SUMO1, SUMO2 is the most studied SUMO isoform in humans which shares 45 % and ~80 % similarity with SUMO1 in terms of sequence and structure, respectively.

Purpose: Gall bladder cancers (GBC) usually presents in advanced stage. First-line chemotherapy (CT) is the standard of care, and there is no other option for responders than to wait for disease progression. We conducted a randomized study of consolidation chemoradiation (CTRT) versus observation in responders to first line CT (NCT05493956), which showed an improvement in overall survival by 6 months and therefore is practice changing.

Introduction: Poorly differentiated thyroid cancer (PDTC) remains a challenge not only for pathologists and surgeons because of the difficulties associated with the diagnostic process and the compelling need for difficult thyroidectomy, but it is also of high clinical relevance because it is responsible for mortality in non-anaplastic follicular cell-derived thyroid cancer.
Materials And Methods: Cases of PDTC within a 30-year period were reviewed by two independent pathologists. Histological features like atypical mitosis, necrosis, capsular, and vascular invasion were studied.
