Nurses, as healthcare professionals who frequently interact with older patients in clinical settings, play a crucial role in providing direct care and services to older patients. However, nurses caring for older patients often experience substantial physical and emotional exhaustion, which can trigger a loss of motivation, feelings of helplessness, and burnout. The current study, conducted in Korea, investigated the impact of ageism on burnout among clinical nurses.

Background: Precise harm assessment by the medical staff is very important in a patient safety event reporting system but there are differences in perception due to insufficiencies in education.
Methods: We developed the survey tool consisting of nine patient safety incident scenarios to investigate the interrater agreement in the harm score assigning among nurses. The survey tool was distributed to 287 nurses working at two hospitals.
During Colonial Period, Western Medicine was introduced, and due to the lean-to-one-side policy by the Japanese, Western Medicine became the mainstream medical science while Oriental Medicine was pushed to the outskirts. The general public in colonial period got help from medical profession after they tried something they could do at home when they got sick or injured. There were differences to get help from western or traditional medicine according to their economic status, living area, and educational status, the character of disease or injury, etc.
