Background: When selecting samples for patient preference studies, it may be difficult or impractical to recruit participants who are eligible for a particular treatment decision. However, a general public sample may not be an appropriate proxy.

Objective: This study compares preferences for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) preventive treatments between members of the general public and first-degree relatives (FDRs) of confirmed RA patients to assess whether a sample of the general public can be used as a proxy for FDRs.

Data to guide evidence-based management of pregnant people with sickle cell disease (SCD) are limited. This international Delphi panel aimed to identify consensus among multidisciplinary experts for SCD management during pregnancy. The 2-round Delphi process used questionnaires exploring 7 topics (antenatal care, hydroxyurea use, transfusion, prevention of complications, treatment of complications, delivery and follow-up, and bottlenecks and knowledge gaps) developed by a steering committee.

Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) Post COVID-19 Infection: Diagnosis and Treatment from the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a Tertiary Hospital in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Background: Post coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, children presented with varying clinical manifestations of a Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). The aim of our study is to identify the clinical manifestations upon admission to paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and to identify how different treatments affected post-treatment outcomes.  Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study included 11 patients diagnosed with multisystem inflammatory syndrome based on the World Health Organization (WHO) classification and treated by intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) with/without corticosteroids.

Introduction The urology multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT) is the key weekly meeting that allows the opportunity to review results and discuss management plans for all urological cancers within a department. As populations age and cancer detection and management improve, the demand for the MDT will increase. We conducted a collaborative transregional study within the UK to evaluate the current workload on the urology MDT.

Provision of acute oncology services in the UK: data from the Society for Acute Medicine Benchmarking Audit 2022 (SAMBA22).

Acute oncology services (AOS) manage acute cancer-related presentations alongside acute medical teams. This study assessed AOS provision against national peer review measures and the burden of acute cancer-related admissions. The 2022 Society for Acute Medicine Benchmarking Audit surveyed UK hospitals, collecting hospital-level and patient-level data for all medical admissions over a 24-h period.

COVID-19 breakthrough infections in type 1 diabetes mellitus: a cross-sectional study by the COVID-19 Vaccination in Autoimmune Diseases (COVAD) Group.

To investigate the frequency, profile, and severity of COVID-19 breakthrough infections (BI) in patients with type I diabetes mellitus (T1DM) compared to healthy controls (HC) after vaccination. The second COVID-19 Vaccination in Autoimmune Diseases (COVAD-2) survey is a multinational cross-sectional electronic survey which has collected data on patients suffering from various autoimmune diseases including T1DM. We performed a subgroup analysis on this cohort to investigate COVID-19 BI characteristics in patients with T1DM.
