Background: Systemic steroids are recommended for patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and proteinuria. However, there are concerns about their safety due to an excess of serious adverse events (SAEs) in previous randomised trials. This study evaluates the incidence of SAEs in IgAN patients receiving different treatment regimens in clinical practice.

Wounds in diabetic patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) may be poorly responsive to revascularization and conventional therapies. : This study's objective is to analyze the results of regenerative cell therapy with peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNCs) as an adjuvant to revascularization. This study is based on 168 patients treated with endovascular revascularization below the knee plus three PBMNC implants.

This article provides a literature review on tubal carcinoma to offer an updated insight into its preventative strategies, diagnosis, treatment and oncological surveillance. In addition to the search string utilized, the authors' focus extended to key scientific studies, consensus statements, guidelines and relevant case reports essential for the proper clinical management of the disease, providing a methodologically well-structured literature review combined with practical expertise in the oncological field. This article also includes two special clinical cases that emphasize the importance of understanding the physiopathology and the current state of the art in the anatomopathological advancements in tubal/ovarian/peritoneal carcinoma, often assimilated into a single clinical entity and to which many of the concepts extracted from the literature can apply.

Background: The combination of encorafenib with cetuximab has become the standard of care in patients with BRAF V600E-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) after a prior systemic therapy. This study aims to describe the efficacy and safety of encorafenib/cetuximab +/- binimetinib in patients with BRAF V600E-mutated mCRC in a real-world setting.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study included patients with BRAF V600E-mutated mCRC who received this combination from January 2020 to June 2022 in 30 centers.

Background: The effectiveness of complete revascularization is well established in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), but it is less investigated in those with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
Objectives: This study aimed to assess whether complete revascularization, compared with culprit-only revascularization, was associated with consistent outcomes in older patients with STEMI and NSTEMI.
Methods: In the FIRE (Functional Assessment in Elderly MI Patients with Multivessel Disease) trial, 1,445 older patients with myocardial infarction (MI) were randomized to culprit-only or physiology-guided complete revascularization, stratified by STEMI (n = 256 culprit-only vs n = 253 complete) and NSTEMI (n = 469 culprit-only vs n = 467 complete).

The International Consensus on ANA Patterns (ICAP) is an ongoing international initiative dedicated to harmonizing technical and interpretation aspects of the HEp-2 IFA test. Comprised of internationally recognized experts in autoimmunity and HEp-2 IFA testing, ICAP has operated for the last 10 years by promoting accurate reading, interpretation, and reporting of HEp-2 IFA images by professionals involved in various areas related to autoimmune diseases, such as clinical diagnostic laboratories, academic research, IVD industry, and patient care. ICAP operates through continuous information exchange with the international community and encourages the participation of younger experts from all over the world.

Antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) are a family of autoantibodies targeting phospholipid-binding proteins and are associated with several clinical settings, and most notably define the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). These antibodies can be identified using a variety of laboratory tests, which include both solid-phase immunological assays and functional clotting assays that detect lupus anticoagulants (LA). aPLs are linked to a range of adverse medical conditions, such as thrombosis and complications affecting the placenta and fetus, potentially leading to morbidity and mortality.

Background: The optimal treatment for acute minor ischemic stroke is still undefined. and options include dual antiplatelet treatment (DAPT), intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), or their combination. We aimed to investigate benefits and risks of combining IVT and DAPT versus DAPT alone in patients with MIS.

Purpose: Limited data is available on treatment satisfaction with the management of wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) among patients in Italy. In this cross-sectional real-world study, treatment satisfaction with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGFs) was assessed in patients with wAMD in Italy.
Patients And Methods: This was a non-interventional, cross-sectional survey involving patients with wAMD receiving anti-VEGFs.

Methods: In this single centre prospective study (January 2004 - December 2021), consecutive AAAs (≥ 55 mm) were included in the ERP (patient discharge on post-operative day [POD] 4).

Gibberellin Regulated Proteins (GRPs) are small glycoproteins that induce allergy to various types of fruit. This study aimed to evaluate co-sensitization to cypress pollen and other molecules responsible for fruit allergy, such as nsLTP (Pru p 3), PR-10 (Bet v1), and Profilin (Bet v2). Sixty subjects sensitized to peach GRP (Pru p 7) were consecutively recruited from four Italian centers: 28 males and 32 females (mean age 37.

Objective: Sustained clinical and hemodynamic benefit after revascularization for chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) is needed to resolve symptoms and prevent limb loss. We sought to compare rates of clinical and hemodynamic failure as well as resolution of initial and prevention of recurrent CLTI after endovascular (ENDO) vs bypass (OPEN) revascularization in the Best-Endovascular-versus-best-Surgical-Therapy-in-patients-with-CLTI (BEST-CLI) trial.
Methods: As planned secondary analyses of the BEST-CLI trial, we examined the rates of (1) clinical failure (a composite of all-cause death, above-ankle amputation, major reintervention, and degradation of WIfI stage); (2) hemodynamic failure (a composite of above-ankle amputation, major and minor reintervention to maintain index limb patency, failure to an initial increase or a subsequent decrease in ankle brachial index of 0.

Symptoms of fibromyalgia (FM) fluctuate and vary in severity. The current study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) and acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) in FM patients over a 24-month period and to investigate the mediating function of pain catastrophizing subdomains in unfavorable relationships with disease severity levels in patients with FM. Patients were evaluated at baseline, after 12 months, and after 24 months, using different patient-reported measures (FIQR, FASmod, PSD, and PCS) to distinguish different levels of FM disease severity.

The Stupp regimen remains the standard treatment for newly diagnosed glioblastomas, although the prognosis remains poor. Several temozolomide alternative schedules have been studied, with extended adjuvant treatment (>6 cycles of temozolomide) frequently used, although different trials have indicated contrasting results. Survival data of 87 patients who received 6 ('6C' group) or 12 ('12C' group) cycles of temozolomide were collected between 2012 and 2022.

: Lung ultrasound (LUS) is a tool of growing interest in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) oligo- symptomatic ILD to avoid. : We aimed to evaluate (i) the prevalence of pleural (PLUS) and parenchymal (PAUS) abnormalities in LUS in the RA population and their possible correlation to biomarkers; (ii) the predictivity of gender, smoking habits, previous infections (past COVID-19 tuberculosis), and treatments; (iii) the differences in LUS between sexes. : We collected the data of 155 (15 early and 140 late) RA patients with mild respiratory symptoms, evaluating PLUS and PAUS, in fourteen lung areas and also summing the scores (LUS-T).
