Purpose Of Review: While preliminary evidence for use of real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) in the hospital setting is encouraging, challenges with currently available devices and technology will need to be overcome as part of real-world integration. This paper reviews the current evidence and guidelines regarding use of rtCGM in the hospital and suggests a practical approach to implementation.
Recent Findings: There is now a considerable body of real-world evidence on the benefits of reducing dysglycemia in the hospital using both traditional point-of-care (POC) glucose testing and rtCGM.

Homelessness, affecting over half a million Americans, significantly elevates the risks of mental and physical health issues, consequently diminishing life expectancy when compared with the general population. Homelessness is a critical public health issue, and efforts are needed to address lack of housing as a social determinant of health. Transitional housing (TH) programs emerge as vital interventions, offering a place to stay with various support services to facilitate the transition to permanent residency.

Background: Hispanic individuals have higher type 2 diabetes (T2D) prevalence, poorer outcomes, and are disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Culturally-tailored, diabetes educational text messaging has previously improved HbA1c in this population.
Methods: During the pandemic, hospitalized Hispanic adults with T2D (N = 172) were randomized to receive Dulce Digital-COVID Aware ("DD-CA") texting platform upon discharge plus diabetes transition service (DTS) or DTS alone.

Introduction: Learning in a clinical domain in dentistry is complex and learners may face uncertain clinical scenarios. A simulation curriculum can be designed to have simple clinical scenarios and learning activities which progress in complexity and employ competence assessments of simulated clinical practice before students can undertake authentic practice on patients. This paper presents how scaffolding of competence can be used for designing learning with simulators (haptics and phantom head) demonstrated in a specific domain in restorative dentistry.

Objective: The emergence of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) has been beneficial in processing administrative and clinical data for quality healthcare information. Despite being patient-centered, a number of these technologies have a fractional consideration of the human-computer interaction, which affects the healthcare professionals as end-users. This attempted to surface the healthcare providers' preferences of an ideal EHR system interface in the community setting.

Type 2 diabetes disproportionately impacts ethnic minorities and individuals from low socioeconomic status. Diabetes self-management education and support has been shown to improve clinical outcomes in these populations, and mobile health (mHealth) interventions can reduce barriers to access. Dulce Digital-Me (DD-Me) was developed to integrate adaptive mHealth technologies to enhance self-management and reduce disparities in the high-risk, underserved Hispanic population.

Health needs assessments identify important issues to be addressed and assist organizations in prioritizing resources. Using data from the Mid-South Congregational Health Survey, top health needs (physical, mental, social determinants of health) were identified, and differences in needs by key demographic variables (age, sex, race/ethnicity, education) were examined. Church leaders and members (N = 828) from 92 churches reported anxiety/depression (65 %), hypertension/stroke (65 %), stress (62 %), affordable healthcare (60 %), and overweight/obesity (58 %) as the top health needs in their congregations.

Executive function (EF) encompasses several neurocognitive processes that are important in self-regulation of behavior and the attainment of social and cognitive competencies. While much progress has been made in developing valid measures for adult and adolescent EF, there is a dearth of valid measures for preschool children. Given the steep trajectory of neuropsychological development among this age group and the importance of EF, a valid measure for clinical assessment and research is needed that can capture EF in the everyday context of early childhood.

Background: Competency-based medical education (CBME) addresses the accountability of postgraduate training programmes to graduate specialists capable of independent practice.
Methods: We undertook a systematic review and narrative synthesis of the published CBME literature in anaesthesia training programmes to identify current practices and areas requiring further exploration.
Results: We grouped the 23 studies that met our inclusion criteria into the following categories: demonstrating outcomes of CBME, developing a consensus on an achievable CBME curriculum, CBME curriculum framework, design and implementation of workplace-based assessment (WBA) tools, trainee self-assessment, perceptions of trainees and supervisors on WBA tools, and technological solutions for assessment and feedback.
